I’m gonna write some tips here, but keep in mind that I’m self-taught, still learning, and not an expert!!!!! At all!!!!!!!!!!
For linework: I use my sketch. I hardly clean it up, if at all. I really like the messy look of it C:. Since I use a Smaller brush, for lineweight (the Thickness of lines) I tend to just Overlap lines. Places you’d want more lineweight include: The face, specifically the chin and cheeks. The hands, if they’re a main focus. Most Points, for example elbows, shoulders, or where the body bends. Anything important should usually have thicker lines.
For proportions: Of course study real life / models (PLEASE study real people, I’m begging you!!!!!!!) , but Also study artists and cartoons!!!!! I can’t stress enough how much stylized shows have affected my art!!!!!!!! Recently I’ve been enjoying drawing more Clone High-esque hands. Watching other 2000’s cartoons can help with this. Sillouhettes Are important as well, but I do NOT feel like I have the credentials to talk about that confidently.

some months back i had made some future frisk and chara designs but i feel they're outdated, so i whipped this up real quick
chara's got tan lines from wearing the shirts of bands they haven't listened to all summer and frisk is rocking a choppy haircut from when they tried to give themselves layers. also they're slowly finding out about decora but are still sticking with the colorful dad fits
