ykno the thing about poetry is that 99% of it is bullshit and the other 1% will cut you like a material knife, and for every person that 1% is a different section of the whole. this is probably true about all art.
There's a user called Erika Horn (@erikahorn.art) on tiktok who made a "duet me" challenge so technically impressive that all of the duets are exactly like this LMAO
I’m just here to say I LOVE DICK AND TIM TOO.

Le voyageur
Tu voyages.
Trop longtemps.
Forgiveness

if you see me posting non stop on tumblr it's bc i have to do the dishes 😔
'recovering' or 'healing' by starting to hate your former self + shame or mock others for being the way you used to be isn't actually very healing. you can acknowledge + be grateful that you have changed without transferring all your self hatred/shame onto others.
it makes me so mad/sad to see the new trend of 'recovery posts' on here that are like "it's so embarrassing to not be trying to better yourself" or "i can't believe i used to just wallow in my room all day + burden everyone else with my problems" like where is the compassion in that? where did you learn to hate your suffering self so intensely? self-hatred is never going to be a radical or healing praxis + bootstraps bullshit is still bootstraps bullshit when you put a cutesy mental health tag on it.

Come on Tumblr, don’t be fucking cowards
Alternatively - come on nameless intern #102, you have a chance to be the fucking funniest person on staff.
cowards
Time for manual blazing, tumblr can be a coward but they can't stop us.
40,000 years ago, early humans painted hands on the wall of a cave. This morning, my baby cousin began finger painting. All of recorded history happened between these two paintings of human hands. The Nazca Lines and the Mona Lisa. The first TransAtlantic flight and the first voyage to the Moon. Humanity invented the wheel, the telescope, and the nuclear bomb. We eradicated wild poliovirus types 2 and 3. We discovered radio waves, dinosaurs, and the laws of thermodynamics. Freedom Riders crossed the South. Hippies burned their draft cards. Countless genocides, scientific advancements, migrations, and rebellions. More than a hundred billion humans lived and died between these two paintings—one on a sheet of paper, and one on the inside of a cave. At the dawn of time, ancient humans stretched out their hands. And this morning, a child reached back.
A Timeline of Humanity:
honestly, I think it's really healthy to sometimes acknowledge that pretty much every bully and bigot in the history of the world thought their bigotry was justified. They all had their excuses. So I really recommend doing some occasional soul-searching and asking yourself whether you are making excuses somewhere for mistreating someone.
