What I'm seeing is that the completely blank blogs are the ones likely to follow you, while the actual porn-filled ones scurry around liking real people's posts. Unfortunately, this looks like actual strategy (it's harder to detect a bot mixed into your notifications of likes than it is to notice one that just followed you). I hate it.

It is acceptable to lie to people on the internet.

if people at home call you he/him pronouns and you want people online to call you by she/her pronouns you don't owe anybody the knowledge of what they call you at home. You don't have to call yourself trans if you don't want to. You can just call yourself a girl and move on.

You don't owe anybody on the 'net the full veracity of your physical vessel.

I am so, so happy that being transgender has become so much more normal and acceptable but I really feel like it has simultaneously done irreparable damage to the expectation of privacy and the commonality of lying to people on the internet.

Back in my day if you wanted people to see you as a 15 year old girl you just told people you were a 15 year old girl and deleted all your accounts if somebody doxxed you-- and remember that you shouldn't doxx people.

Privacy is good, people! you don't owe everyone online the naked truth of your soul at all times.

On tiktok you don't *have* privacy, I'm not sure if this is a thing on other platforms, but other then the obligatory face sharing to get any kind of "audience", there is the costant expectation of denouncing what "qualifications" you have when discussing a subject

Often you'll see people start a video with "I am *insert extremly private minority laundry list* so I cna say that (...)"

There is also just a general push to have 0 fucking boundaries on it, which is ironic considering the whole app is 10x less actual communication then tumblr.

I have learned people's most personal traumas discussed as qualification to talk in discourse. And if you're not perosnally affected and ya talk ab it, you're gonna get doggpiled
