we gather ALL the moms… and each mom is assigned a person of fiscal, social, or governmental influence… and in unison they yell, “CLEAN UP THIS MESS!” and point at the ocean

it was never really about health

^^^^^

IT WAS NEVER REALLY ABOUT HEALTH

As a disabled person, I really would love to know what the fuck makes anyone think it’s ever justifiable or reasonable to harass people based on how "healthy" they are, anyway. Like please. Somebody. One you fuckwads in the notes looking for a fight: I'm right here.

Because I have a strong suspicion that you wouldn't even silently agree with that sentiment when looking at a "facing my biggest fear, wearing a swimsuit at the beach" pic featuring a skinny person seated in a wheelchair, or a person with prosthetic limbs, or a person who'd had a mastectomy. You almost certainly wouldn't leap to the defense of a total stranger who insulted them by going "wHAT do you EXPECT?? that’s so unhealthy??"

So is that because you look at people in those situations with pity? Because they're inspirational or some uwu shit like that? Is it because they're VICTIMS and that makes them blameless? (Because lol the first two could have easily become disabled because of drinking and driving, or any number of scenarios involving their own choices? Ones potentially far worse than the crime of EATING FOOD.) Or is it just because viciously mocking people who look disabled is so widely understood to be inappropriate, and so egregiously violates social norms, you never stopped and thought about the fact that the logic here is inconsistent? I mean, why aren’t you taking this PEOPLE WHO DON’T LOOK HEALTHY GOTTA EXPECT TO HEAR MEAN THINGS crusade to the Special Olympics?? You’re the pragmatic voice of reason! You tell it like it is! (Your tax dollars might be paying for their health care!!)

All I’m saying is that it’s suuuuuper interesting so many people, including those who would never leave comments like those up there, actually think “healthy” works as a metric for determining who gets respect and dignity and who does not. Because even if your criticism or insults or permissive attitudes about harassing fat people WERE based on concerns about their life expectancy or any other medical problems, you would STILL. BE. AN. ASSHOLE. If you still don't get why, google the word "eugenics," maybe you'll find some new interests and like-minded folks!!

Necromancer that doesn’t know they’re a necromancer and thinks they’re just a really good emt
