Wannabe spooky guy

@finndnot

A lil guy who really wishes they could be a spooky whatever. And have horns.

I (Shannon) cut the video for this Kickstarter for an AMAZING new TTRPG game called Triangle Agency! Think The X-Files, Stanley Parable, The SCP Foundation, etc!

Check out the video (which is more of a short horror film than just a KS ad) and consider backing Triangle Agency today!

And check out our gay anime pigeon western episode we played with the Triangle Agency delta test a while back! It's also on Spotify etc.

Dark Fantasy isn't about being edgy. It's not about using all the "-isms", nor subjecting audiences to a neverending stream of terrible people being terrible.

It's about the entropy of a hostile world, wearing everything out. And those who still fight to preverse embers of light.

If you think the power of dark fantasy is in racism, misogyny, homophobia, etc., then you're looking at the surface and mistaking elements that aren't even necessary for the whole thing. Which is a mistake many authors do. Yup, calling that a mistake. I don't care, I love dark fantasy too much to pretend that's not the case. Kentaro Miura knew this, as he created Berserk. The point isn't about the darkness only, no matter how you decide to put that in: it's about what protagonists do to find their place in said dark world, how they rage against it. Whether they fail or not, whether they keep trying or give up. Look at Dark Souls and Elden Ring, I mean. Hollow Knight. Dark Fantasy is about Darkness and Light, showing how the latter trembles, dies, or endures in the former. Side note: I look forward to you people seeing what we created for The World Below.

To all the people who are enjoying this post, first of all it's encouraging to see other dark fantasy fans resonate with it. I wrote it in the first place in reaction to yet another massive piece of work with dark fantasy claims whose method for getting those was to go overboard with nastiness at every single moment and sidequests. So I had my gears whirling about the topic once again. As if I need an excuse for that.

Second, The World Below I mention above is an upcoming TTRPG game made by Onyx Path Publishing. I happen to have written a huge chunk with it, drawing from my favorite examples and my own ideas about the genre.

We released an ashcan edition of it (which is essentially a small preview with a taste of setting, mechanics, people, and a little adventure) for 5 dollars. It's a great deal for what it offers, consider giving it a chance! And if you like it, I promise the final book will be much, much more.

Here's the link to it:

I feel like they should just print this out and hand it to any reporter dumb enough to ask about recovering bodies

my favorite part about this mspaint is how succinctly it depicts the Titan. it was just a fucking tube with titanium endcaps.

do you want to see a submersible that's capable of reaching the titanic and has been in operation since 1964? yes this has been in operation for almost 60 years:

look at how this thing was designed with safety in mind:

the part where the crew sits is entirely made out of titanium, and it's a sphere. why? because a sphere has less weak points than a cylinder. it's more or less uniformly strong in all directions

if you look at other deep sea subs that support a crew and you'll notice a pattern. while their superstructure that is not pressurized may vary, the pressurized compartments are spherical. take a look at this pretty comprehensive list of manned deep-sea submersibles and click through to some that are on the list of the deepest dives

I referenced the Alvin first because it was famously used to explore the titanic but the list goes much deeper (remember the titanic is at about 4000m depth)

Here's a cutaway of the Challenger. Notice anything?

the titanium sphere used to house the crew?

now look at the Titan:

its an accident waiting to happen.

the Alvin designed 60 years ago is still diving to the depths beyond the titanic, and has completed around FIVE THOUSAND DIVES because it was designed with safety in mind

the Titan got crushed into a billionaire smoothie maker because the CEO who commissioned it designed it to carry as many paying customers as possible for the lowest cost, and by his own mantra of "safety gets in the way of innovation"

you can't innovate your way around physics! the physics that led to the design of the Alvin in 1964 are the same physics that made gogurt out of you and your passengers mr stockton rush. no amount of free market entrepreneurial spirit is gonna make your tube go super saiyan at 4000m and prevent the mathematical certainty of physics from taking your life

“minor character death” but not death of a minor character, just a character experiencing a non-major death

I made this post with Danny Phantom in mind and that’s what most of the tags have been. I wasn’t surprised when I saw some anime-lookin names, Merlin, and some version of Robin. I’m upset I didn’t see this coming

It does not. Any death related to mining/Minecraft is a “miner character death”

A Few Thoughts On AI Art, Which May Already Be Obvious To Some

I wrote a little more about this on my patreon if people have any interest in further reading

This is a NO GIMMICK ACCOUNT ZONE

If your shit is called something like "we-rate-posts," YOU ARE NOT WELCOME. GO HOME

I disagree

There's a tension here that's really interesting to observe. The OP is almost a call to action for gimmick blogs, inviting attention despite the contradiction. It comes across as almost tsundere, doesn't it?

The call is answered by the perfect gimmick blog, calling out the contradiction by way of simple disagreement. The response is teasing and even domineering in the way it recontextualizes the entire post. It is the punchline, the center of attention, but wouldn't exist without the original setup.

While it seems like this post could be seen as a negative interaction, I think it's actually quite cute. It shows the kind of playful back and forth that could occur between two flirty girls.

Conclusion: This is yuri.
