I dislike how in newer comics, they’ve brought nazis back for the heroes to fight, since that’s a relevant topic again. Except they’re stereotypical nazis or nazi zombies or whatever, so while heroes are fighting these obviously-evil nazis, it makes it easier to ignore the actual threat nazis pose on society. Nazis aren’t walking around in German WW2 S.S. uniforms, they’re just shitty incels hiding behind computer screens.

Basically I want to see Captain America beat up some 4chan cretins, and I don’t think that’s too much to ask.

How new are you talking? The silver age from almost 7 decades ago?

Billie Joe Armstrong posted this on instagram and a lot of the comments are white men saying that they’ve lost their respect for him and his music because of this post. The confederate flag is not “southern heritage” as redneck asswipes would have you believe, but a symbol of racism. This is the flag of the side of the civil war that wanted to keep slavery legal. There is no reason to hold on to it and keep it as “part of your culture” if that part of your culture is oppressive and racist. The German people do not fly flags with swastikas because it’s part of their culture. German people are not proud of that part of their history. And it’s more that just getting rid of the confederate flag, it’s about ending centuries of institutionalized racism. So you know what, you go, Billie Joe Armstrong.

Fun fact about the Confederate Flag flying above the State House in South Carolina. It has not always been flying above the State House, it was placed above the State House in 1961 in response to the Civil Rights Movements in South Carolina and across the country. Make of that information what you will.

Saying the southern region of the U.S. was fighting for slavery during the civil war makes you sound like an uneducated armpit. You have to understand slavery wasn’t one of those things everyone participated in. that’s like assuming every person who lives in the Middle East builds bombs. Slavery is a small but terrible aspect of southern lifestyle of the time, but the Confederate flag is not a symbol for advocating slavery. And if we’re taking down symbols that were used during a time of slavery by slave-owners than we should probably get rid of the crucifix too

Avatar

So I guess, in regards to the confederate soldiers fighting in the war about slavery, they weren’t fighting due to their beliefs. You know, things like  long-held traditions and institutions... chief among those being slavery? You know, that thing that was the backbone of the southern economy at the time? You know, the uh... war where the economics of slavery and the control of that system was the main cause of the war? Especially since the south wanted to take slavery to the west aka the north and the north did not want that?

I guess, you know. It was really because Lincoln got to be President with no electoral vote from the South at all.

Yeah, that’s it.

Just curious but what part of you LOST, remains unclear?

I’m not conservative but associating the confederate flag only with slavery is bs. people assume the southerners who sport the flag are some trashy redneck racists when most of the time it just has to do with being proud of your ancestors.

Avatar

Look at this idiot trying to imply the war wasn’t about slavery.

What’s next, you think that’s actually the flag officially recognized by the confederacy? HA. NO. Hardly any soldiers saw the flag idiots now consider to be the confederate flag. The KKK and Southern Dixiecrats made the flag theirs, both groups that had some issue with minorities wanting to be treated more like human beings.

Maybe if the States of America were less busy trying to kill everyone around them and more focused on educating and bettering themselves by learning their history, we wouldn’t have idiots like the people in the gifs and idiots like b0hannon running their digital or physical mouths.

Be better.

Heroes in Crisis more like: Should we push Harley Quinn more? No? Well, you’re just a hater, clearly. Let’s just have her kill and beat up everyone, that’ll work. Also, let’s put this nice tip of the iceberg discussion about mental health on top and we’ll sell.

Time for a NISEI HEADCANON THAT ANYONE CAN ADD ONTO.

So Christmas has come and gone, and I thought about how each family will be treated during Christmas time.

Mantaro: Gets everything he wants and then some.

Terry the Kid: His gift is the roof over his head and maybe some practical gifts for chores if he is lucky.

Kevin Mask: Gets clothes.

Jade: Gets patchy clothes, appreciates it all the same.

What he says: I’m fine.

What he means: If I don’t get a scene in Kingdom Hearts 3 of Hercules coming to Sora’s aid by decking one of the more prominent Organization XIII members, sending them flying, as he rallies Sora to be the hero that Hercules knows he is; I’m going to be incredibly disappointed. In all of these games so far, Hercules has jobbed it up in some capacity including weaker than Auron. He’s the god of strength, heroes, sports, athletes, you get the idea. You would think the Organization would be more proactive on getting the heart of a god. If they can push people like Beast or even JACK SPARROW, UGH!, they can push Hercules more. Speaking of things that need a push, the Aladdin tv show just perfectly expanded on the lore of the universe to the point that it’d be ridiculous not to add it to your game but the fact that Nomura apparently refuses to not tread into territory outside of the films makes me think we won’t ever get to see someone like Mozenrath who would be perfect for Aladdin’s growth and Kingdom Hearts’ overall theming. Instead we get something like... Jack Sparrow. Disgusting. I’d rather have another Little Mermaid Musical, at least that was fun. I just want these two wonderful “worlds” to get more exposure, is that so wrong?

Imagine a Total Drama All Stars with an Aftermath after every episode where each all star is interviewed. Every episode does have a “that’s gonna leave a mark”!

Lindsay’s episode focuses around her possibly playing dumb still due to her almost intentionally getting the boot. And then she reveals she is not as dumb as she looks and did actually give herself the boot and then reveals she’s going into modeling or something.

Lightning’s episode focuses on how goofy he is, kind of knocking him down a peg and making him realize just being strong really isn’t enough. Or he just ends it trying to compete with everyone and then Eva finally gets to do something and beats him at arm wrestling. Lightning and Tyler also form either a bromance or a rivalry due to Lightning being athletically gifted while Tyler just wears the gear.

Jo’s episode is about her and Lightning settling their rivalry, and then some of the female cast teases Lightning about not knowing Jo was a girl from the get go. Maybe Jo makes too many rude comments and Leshawna puts her foot down?

Sam’s episode might get trippy with him and Harold. The cast might tease Sam a little and then they bring Dakota out and now she is so upset at them roasting Sam she goes nuts and the Aftermath ends with everyone running. It ends with Sam being sad he can’t be a cool mutant like Dakota and Dakota saying she still likes Sam for who he is.

The Heather episode is a lot of teasing her about her feelings for Alejandro. Think the lie detector test from Action but far less brutal. It humanizes Heather a bit to the rest of the cast, even if they find it a little scary that she likes Alejandro for being the master manipulator guy.

Sierra’s episode is about her cooling down from her Cody withdrawal (mostly because he offers to sit next to her during the aftermath). It turns into Sierra interrogating almost everyone and it ends with maybe Cody liking Sierra back, and it finally is told to Sierra that Cameron is not Cody. Also maybe Dakota and Sierra bond over being the stronger partner in their ‘ship who is also super devoted to them.

Duncan is in jail so they don’t really have him available during his episode. But a lot of the contestants talk about Duncan and some of them even defend his actions. Harold in particular is pretty amazed at Duncan’s transformation in All Stars and rallies the rest of the cast to put together a fund raiser for his bail. This is why is he in All Stars’ finale even if he was not picked. Trent might reveal he still likes Gwen, he might not. Duncan communicates every so often through a video call, but it gets cut off every so often due to silly circumstances. The episode ends with everyone asking Duncan about Mal and then when he starts to go into detail, a cop cuts him off when Duncan is implying Mal may have seriously injured or even murdered someone. DJ runs out screaming and the episode ends there.

Cameron’s episode includes things like Jo and Lightning praising him for becoming more “Evil” and Cameron being terrified of Mal. The “that’s gonna leave a mark!” segment doesn’t help, due to everyone realizing that the footage is Mal hurting people off camera.

Alejandro’s episode is going to be awkward because everyone laughs at him for all of the humiliation he’s suffered. It’s also cathartic for a lot of the contestants to see him eliminated by Mal, but Heather tries to come to his defense. And they realize without the competition they have each other, which leads to their behaviour at the start of the finale.Heather is also shown his fight with his brother, and is touched by his love for her.

The Courtney episode is about how she’s transformed from kind of evil, to straight up antagonist, to off her rocker due to her relationship with Duncan and Gwen, to present. Duncan sort of implies he was trying to make her jealous while dating Gwen, because that’s how the ‘ship was written in All Stars. Courtney’s moved on and Duncan feels uncomfortable. He is also still in jail. Courtney is now the one who wants to repair her friendship with Gwen and the audience eats it up. Also everyone teases Courtney for her liking Scott, and some of them are even grossed out by it. Beth defends her, bringing up her boyfriend Brady.

The Gwen and Scott episode begins with Scott and Gwen freaking out at Courtney, and then Scott being laughed at by the third gen cast for being the punching bag for a season. Duncan is finally out of jail and Geoff asks if either girl still likes him and they say at least not in that way. Trent is shown to maybe still like Gwen, or at least Cody is in a physical way. The episode is just everyone wondering how Zoey is gonna handle Mal. They also discuss how shocked they are that Mike could be Mal but Harold, being the know-it-all he is, explains that it isn’t MIKE but an alternate personality. Geoff comments on that being heavy, and then Chris comes in and makes his interns put all of the All Stars contestants into balloons. And then Owen is lured away via beans.

I don’t know some of this obviously needs a lot of tweaking but it’s a start. I think it’d be pretty cool if each All Star got an episode focused on them.

Hey jsyk it’s 2018 and if you’re still drawing characters with big lips like THIS, even if they’re pale/not black, it’s fucking racist. Stop doing it.

No excuses. “It’s a stylistic choice!” It’s a RACIST stylistic choice.

“Idk how else to draw big lips!” That’s because you relied on racist caricatures and are a bad artist. Teach yourself. Learn. If you’re not willing to do that, then you are a bad, racist artist.

“But it’s part of the character design!” Yeah, and it’s racist. If it’s your OC, then change it. If it’s not your OC, make the right choice and draw them with normal looking bigger lips instead of this racist monstrosity.

And if this post makes you uncomfortable because it’s calling you out for stuff you’ve done, good. Fix it. Own up to it. Grow.

If you see this and you’re first thought is to defend this: you are racist. You are part of the problem. Congrats. Now work on yourself and unlearn that.

Okay I think you are mistaken. One of these is a masks and then another one is a character made in reference to the character wearing said mask. So I’m not sure how or why you would change a masks’ lips.

Usopp, though... racist gepetto’s mutant child...

found a tunic asset, combined it with the dark souls 3 herald sleeves and came up with a super fancy combo. had to do a pretty indepth retexture for the hood which i think came out nicely.

parts wise it’s a full body + feet slot armor, with 4 variants of gloves and standalone hood + mask combo. i also did some work on the jacket but i need to get better at texturing to really get it to fit with the bloodborne assets. a tunicless variant is also not out of the question for a ‘foreign garb’ vibe

the vram footprint of this outfit is MASSIVE as is the list of people i’d have to credit to ever release it, but it looks okay so hmm

I want this, so bad.

Blue Morpho was such a wonderful person, and the only real mistake he made was befriending Jonas Venture.

I love how the Blue Morpho was a good person who did morally bad things and Joans Venture was a morally bad person who did good things

What’s sad is that everyone who doesn’t know of their relationship thought Blue Morpho was the unhinged one, but never considered Jonas.

“But why”

Minstrel shows involved white men dressing up in black face fit with ridiculous red lips drawn exactly like what you see above. Those shows were the epitome of racism and, more specifically, anti-blackness. So, if you can look at this kind of lip design shown above and then at this image below depicting a man in black face with exaggerated and poorly drawn lips and you still wanna argue then… you’re racist. That’s just that on that.

Stop doing it. There are plenty of tutorials for how to draw lips, and google is free. Learn from this, grow, move on.

How can someone consciously type out “It’s a stylistic choice!”, call it racist, and never call into question the intentions of an artist?  If you want to make a big post about how the Japanese drew their characters in manga and anime based on blackface and golliwogs, and how it came from a place of misunderstanding, I get that. Instead though, here you’re making a sweeping generalization for a feature people legitimately enjoy drawing, people who aren’t racist, people who do use it as a stylistic choice and nothing else, throw a completely different context onto it, and shame them for the way they draw their characters.

Not only do you talk down to people who are innocently using a stylized symbol for drawing big lips on characters, you’re talking down to them and telling them they’re shit artist.  If you wanna tell them they’re shit artist because of their weak fundamentals, or their lackluster work ethic, or poor treatment of their peers go right ahead, but to talk down to them because you insist they’re racist is embarrassing and I can only pray that your opinion is swept away in the ocean of other worthless nonsense opinions on the internet.

As someone who’s got decently sized lips I adore being drawn with them like the OP examples.  I wouldn’t want that feature to embellish my cartoon face in any other way.  Any young artist out there that draws lips like that, you need to understand that’s it’s only racist if that’s your intention.  I am beyond ecstatic to see lips drawn like this on any character, regardless of ethnicity, skin tone, gender, sex or anything like that.  But that’s me.  If you prefer to draw them more realistically, especially when your style dictates it: then you can!  I’m not going to tell you to only draw it one way, but don’t ever let me catch you being as stupid as these two knuckleheads taking a fat dump on a bunch of innocent artist’s work just because they can’t comprehend the concept of artist intentions.

The thing that really confuses me is that they use Kinnikuman when his lips are part of a mask. It seems like they are implying that those lips are actually part of Suguru’s actual face. Which could not be further from the truth. I mean if they wanted to use racist stuff from Kinnikuman it’s already right there. This just makes it all seem lazy.
