i wish sjm would stop portraying Feyre as the big sister.

Feyre begins the book feeling bad about the treatment she receives from her sisters. she heard Nesta say that no one would miss her if she died and that she was a wild animal. she spends the entire book listening to Nesta’s words in her head. Feyre also resents Elain for not helping more, for not realizing she could do more if she wanted to.

but suddenly, Feyre forgets everything and whatever they’ve done to her, she only wants the best for her sisters. she just tries to treat them the best she can, like family, even though the two of them have never shown her the same kindness.

it bothers me a lot that Feyre doesn’t have any trauma or resentment from their time in the cabin, as no one goes through so much abuse and remains intact. furthermore, the link between Feyre’s lack of affection from her family and her abusive relationship with Tamlin is direct.

Feyre didn’t need to show them kindness, didn’t need to worry about them, didn’t need to try to help anyone because they never did the same for Feyre. i can see the reason why SJM wanted to turn both Nesta and Elain into ‘’deeper characters’’, but it’s ridiculous how she erased all the trauma Feyre had and just made her as someone who has a responsibility to a shit family like that.

Only in the acotar fandom are there multiple "interpretations" of what happened in the book. Y'all... SJM is not out here writing the most nuanced faerie book in existence with highly complex and ambiguous characters. Some of you simply either don't remember or didn't understand what you read

People really act like feyre stans don’t understand the concept of two people not being right for each other. We get it. Tamlin and Feyre circumstances, tramua, past, her being forced into his life caused their relationship to spiral. If that was the only factors, maybe he wouldn’t get so much hate.

But his actions that some of his defenders love to leave out is the physical and emotional abuse. Let’s say he didn’t help feyre all those nights she woke up screaming and traumatized, after saving his life, that’s defendable to an extent… maybe he wasn’t equipped or understanding enough to help. He has his own demons. But literally, afterwards, in the morning she asked to go out, to explore her powers, ask to have her opinions taken seriously, not just with the court (since the excuse will be that she’s inexperienced) but with her OWN life and what she should be allowed to do. He said no and almost killed her… in both books she acknowledged that if she wasn’t fae the impact of his anger would’ve killed her and that’s the part that is wrong and unredeemable. I don’t care that they didn’t understand each other, I don’t care that they weren’t a fit, that’s all fair game. He can’t be hated for not being the right person for her.

But dragging her back to the spring court, putting everyone’s life in danger to force her back into his home, not listening to her own thoughts and opinions, and again physically hurting her (yes, even in the first book)… I don’t know how to defend that..

This is not taking into consideration his role with Rhys families death, Lucien, and how he treats his court members (since people forget the state of the spring court BEFORE acowar). If Feyre abuse isn’t enough, he has plenty of other people he’s wronged that shows what type of person he is… it justifies the hatred he gets from stans and other characters
