i am so tired of people referring to din djarin's religion/culture as a cult

oooooh scarrryyy a faith built on helping/strengthening their community, rescuing and protecting orphaned children, carrying weapons and armor (to protect against their ongoing genocide), never taking their helmets off (to protect against their ongoing genocide), and a solitariness from the outside world (to protect against their ongoing genocide)

bo-katan i am coming for your ass for starting this discourse

DINS COVERT IS NOT A CULT. IT IS AN ORTHODOX RELIGIOUS GROUP THAT STEMMED FROM DEATH WATCH BUT JUST BECAUSE IT ORIGINATED FROM DEATH WATCH DOES NOT MAKE IT A CULT. STOP CALLING IT A CULT. STOP WANTING DIN TO GO AGAINST HIS BELIEFS. STOP WANTING DIN TO TAKE OFF THE HELMET BECAUSE OF HIS BELIEFS. NORMALIZE RELIGIOUS RELATIONSHIPS. NORMALIZE PEOPLE RECONNECTING WITH THEIR FAITH. NORMALIZE RELIGIOUS HEAD/BODY COVERINGS. STOP CALLING HIS COVERT A CULT.

love david and goliath being like one of the main bible stories for kids. like yeah you might be small but with god on your side you can kill someone with a rock

Oh so when golden boy David does it, he’s heroic and a man after God’s own heart, but when I, CAIN-

beyond the hilariously homophobic intonation he used. i like that otto specifically said alicent was rhaenyra's 'childhood companion' because it confirms a few things. like the fact otto was jaehaerys' hand means alicent had likely lived at the red keep since birth, but the 'childhood companion' comment tells us alicent was specifically chosen to be raised alongside rhaenyra from at least when she started her education with the septas. hence why we see them basically doing homework together. im sure maybe everyone knows this but childhood companion is a specific role, it doesn't just mean 'favourite' or 'friend', although they often go hand in hand.

so going off that logic rhaenyra and alicent would have spent almost every day together since around the age of 6 (?). if not before (otto would have encouraged it as early as possible). no wonder they're such human car crashes without each other - the basis of their entire personhoods was formed with the expectation of the constant presence of the other. they're such opposites and i think they probably leant into that Because the other person was there as a counter weight. i doubt they ever really adapted to being without the balance the other gave them. their fathers might as well have chopped off a limb.

also it really does put in perspective how weird it was for Viserys to desire Alicent. he looked at this girl (still only 15) he'd most definitely watched playing with his daughter as tiny children and went 'oh wife material'. like... tf man.
