no ad is as powerful as a tumblr mutual who has a new hyperfixation

Someone on here said that a giftset on Tumblr will increase viewership more than any post on reddit/twitter ever will and its honestly so true

I have now seen have a bag of plastic bags attributed to growing up in a black household, a Latino household, an immigrant household, an Appalachian household and a “white trash” household. I think it’s time to just admit that we all have a plastic bag bag

On the subject of teeth.

Do you know what? I’m going to say it. The USA’s obsession with a shiny straight white teeth is bizarre. It is not a phenomenon strictly experienced in the USA, but chiefly thanks to Hollywood, so many people have been exposed to the idea there any teeth that aren’t perfectly straight and perfectly white aren’t beautiful. There’s a lot of talk about body positivity when it comes to body shape, skin color, eye color, and hair, but I don’t see enough talk about teeth. One of the most perplexing things about these is that it is beyond natural to have straight white teeth. It’s a newer concept, and it’s only getting more prevalent with Instagram influencers and celeb culture. I see people spending thousands of dollars on their adolescent children, enduring pain and discomfort in the name of beauty. And I understand why, because it is very common for people to bully other people who do not have “perfect teeth.”And while I am someone who thinks that wanting to be perceived as beautiful is completely fair, and I have nothing against people who get braces and do teeth whitening procedures, but the idea that it is the only standard for teeth beauty is weird. There was even a trend I observed that was happening in South Korea where youth would get fake braces because it was a sign of wealth. Isn’t that twisted? I feel that it is the year 2021, we are becoming more aware of weird beauty standards. Can we kill this idea? I’m not gonna stop the orthodontist industry with one Tumblr post, but maybe I can reach someone who is struggling with it. Crooked teeth, yellow teeth, missing teeth, they’re all great. Yeah, it’s obviously important to take care of yourself and dental hygiene is important. But I feel we need to keep in mind that not everybody has access to these resources, not everybody was raised with the idea that perfect straight white teeth were the standard, and I also know a lot of people who suffer from depression and don’t have the motivation to brush their teeth. That’s valid. Take care of yourself, but don’t pay attention to this weird trend. Your teeth are fine.

And one more thing. That gap in your teeth? I love it.
