One of the things I like about a Sokkla relationship is I don’t see Sokka being dogged into it. She’d have to prove herself him, that she was willing and able to give up on a destructive path well before he would take to her in any love (romantic) -interest sort of way. She doesn’t cow him. At the same time he would prove himself to her by showing her a good path, friendship and consideration. Consideration =/= romantic love. Eventually that would lead to loyalty/love. I can see Sokka (and Toph) being her first real friends, as opposed to Mai and Ty Lee.

Also, my thesis defense went swimmingly! I talked for about 15 minutes, feeling like I was stumbling over every other word, then they sent me out for 2 minutes to convene, and then they called me back in again to tell me I'd passed. It was a bit anticlimactic, but I get to say officially that I'm graduating with my Master of Fine Arts!!!
