My cat Väinö is very sick and needs your help

You may remember my darling cat Väinö. He got in trouble from eating something that clogged his bowels earlier this year but he got help and eventually made full recovery. I owe you guys the biggest thanks for helping me pay for Väinö’s care.

I regret to inform you that he is in trouble again and this time it’s huge. I am worried sick and I have done everything I can. Väinö is now in intensive care at an animal hospital where he is able to get the best help possible.

Last Sunday he ate some strings from a blanket fringe. He vomited several times and each time there were a few pieces of string in the vomit. I took him to the vet for some first aid and x-rays. There was nothing alarming in the pictures so he got some medicine for nausea to help keep food and water in. Vomiting several times can lead to dehydration so it was crucial that he got water and food. He wasn’t interested in water of food so I had to force feed him.

By the next day he hadn’t gotten better so I took him to the vet again. New x-rays were taken and they showed a lot of gas in his intestines and his stomach was full of fluid. He got aid for his dehydration. We had to go to another vet because there were no free times for further treatment at the first one.

At the second vet his dehydration treatment was continued and he was ultrasounded and it was decided it would be best to take him to surgery to see what was wrong inside him. The gas in his bowels was let out and the surgeon removed the fluid from the stomach and also some fur. For some reason nothing was passing through his intestines. The vet was uncertain why. I took Väinö home and watched him all night and fed him a little and gave him some water because he wasn’t interested in eating or drinking himself.

By the morning he hadn’t gotten better and was still apathetic so I took him to the vet that performed the surgery for further treatment. He got hydration and some food, but I received a call that it might be best to take him to intensive care because he was still weak.

The animal hospital was an hour drive away and I was so lucky to get help from a friend since I don’t have a car or license. I took Väinö to the hospital where he is treated and more tests were run. I got a call from the vet and Väinö has very high inflammation values, meaning there is some kind of infection. He is now being treated and I will hear from him again the next morning.

I keep saying there is no price too high that helps me save Väinö. But the reality is that the cost of this all is going to be huge. I had some savings but they’re pretty much gone now. Staying at the animal hospital is going to be very pricey. I have already spent 1 500 € and it keeps going up. I can make a payment plan and probably borrow some money but I am in a dire need of help. I hate to do this again. I hate to do it because you already helped me and Väinö so much but here we are again.

Väinö is a healthy, strong cat with the most wonderful personality there is. Everyone who has met him has been completely enamored. He has made friends with so many, including my family’s dog who’s afraid of cats. My other two cats Saku and Speedy are Väinö’s best friends and there is no lovelier sight than seeing the three hang out together. My cats are the most important thing to me in the world and I can’t bear to watch them suffer. I want to give them all the help I can but right now I can’t do anything but wait and hope for the best.

So I finished Azran Legacy, and therefore I’ve now played through all six main Layton games.

And I have feelings.

Okay. Out of all things in Azran Legacy that broke me, it was this:

I cried when I read this.

For those who don’t know, for past couple months I’ve marathoned through the Layton games, experiencing these amazing adventures of Layton, Luke and others for the first time. And it’s been a blast. When I picked up Curious Village, I was prepared for fun puzzles and cute characters, and before I knew it, I was in for a wild roller coaster of emotions. Originally I only got Curious Village and Pandora’s Box/Diabolical Box, but just after finishing Curious Village I was already looking to buy more Layton games. I was totally hooked.

After Lost Future/Unwound Future I had a small break (my heart couldn’t handle another Layton game right after…that) before going after the prequel trilogy, and now I’ve finished that as well. And I know there are no more games with Layton and Luke as main characters (well, expect the crossover, which I might check sometime in the future).

So knowing this, when at the end of Azran Legacy I came across with the above dialogue, it broke me. It did not help at all that I named my file by my real name, and having the puzzle family referring to me directly by my name was just too much. It felt almost like I had been there with them (technically I was, as the player!) and going through everything with them. I was part of this big, emotional adventure.

And even with this being the end, it’s technically not - this is just end of the prequel trilogy. There is still the original three games, and Azran Legacy ending to where Curious Village starts left me hopeful. The adventures of Professor Layton and Luke still continues. Even the end of Lost Future gave me hope for the future, that maybe, just maybe, someday we will see the Professor and his number one apprentice again. (and Emmy and Flora and the Stansbury gang and Descole and…)

And meanwhile, we can always relive the adventures they already had as many times as we want to, and cherish those memories.

Continuing on Miracle Mask, and I got to a point where the Laytoncrew goes to investigate in an amusement park. And…Oh. My. God. Where do I even start?

Okay, so even before they go in, you can check the ticket booth…and Layton says that the family tickets are for discount. Now, the game doesn’t say this, but I am 100% certain they got those because Layton, Luke and Emmy definitely counts as a family!

And then they get in, and…

Oh my god.

OH MY GOD.

Guys you don’t understand that seeing Luke this happy and excited fills my heart with joy and it’s just the most pure thing

(and see how Hershel looks at Luke? Even he agrees!)

Well, at least they got to ride the roller coaster (even tho Luke was afraid of it) and hgFSDRFTYHJ Hershel I know you’re the realest gentleman ever and never lose your composure but pLEASE

Overall, aside from the Masked Gentleman crap, this amusement park visit was like the best part of the game for me so far: Luke was happy, even though Emmy teased him for being afraid of the roller coaster and that was kinda mean of her. And we saw Hershel to ride a roller coaster like a true gentleman! Also Luke got to ride the teacups as part of their investigation so that’s a plus 20/10 would play again
