Maryland vs peta
FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT
I see you in the tags. It’s real. Nothing fake about this lmao. There’s even news stories from 2018 when it happened!

Oh, I certainly didn't doubt that PETA made that billboard. PETA is known for making pretty ridiculous billboards. I remember even covering one of them in a high school English class, specifically the one that called plus-sized people "whales."
I should have been more specific, but I also didn't expect anyone to respond to my tags lmao. I was referring to the "response Old Bay made" to the billboard. It looks like a quickly made edit someone made. You can tell because the second photo is in the exact same quality and angle as the first, but the font is in better quality for some mysterious reason.
I am no graphic design expert by any means, but I've dabbled in Photoshop and took one (1) class for it, and I also make shitty memes all the time. It is definitely a proctored photo quickly made for internet clout.
But when doing research to make sure it was definitely fake, I actually did find the seafood billboard war: but it's not Old Bay.
After PETA posted this billboard in Baltimore, a local seafood restaurant in Dundalk called "Jimmy’s Famous Seafood" saw this, and the owner decided to make a response by making this billboard.
Then when PETA made a billboard during Lent, the same restaurant responded again. This time with two billboards, for emphasis.
This is the actual seafood billboard war that happened in Maryland. Old Bay was never involved in this, and they didn't have to be. It's honestly better that a family-owned business was doing this.
I literally have no clue why someone would make the effort to edit a photo and lie about it being Old Bay when the actual responses are SO hilarious?? Maybe because OP thought that Old Bay would be funnier because it's a brand people recognize, but tbh, a local restaurant roasting the shit out of PETA is such comedy gold. People need to know about the REAL billboard wars.
