Another Call for Help

I don’t know what else to do.

Probably gonna get kicked out of my apartment.

I was able to pay my rent today - extremely late and apparently late enough they sent the court proceeding paperwork. I’m hoping to be able to find a way to pay the other monies owed (late fees and other fees i’ve accumulated) to the tune of $113 on that but my court date is 10/3 so I’m not holding my breath on that.

This case will not be dismissed. I’m going to miss work because of it. I’ve already missed a week of work thanks to a sore throat that made me lose my voice (hard to be on the phone if you can’t talk, yeah?) I won’t get paid again until 10/4, so it won’t be until after the hearing anyway - which I’ll owe shit for because reasonable attorneys fees etc.

I sent an email to the rental company asking for their help on this but I don’t think anything’s going to come of it. i’m way too late because the payment won’t be processed until monday, and they probably aren’t going to see my email until monday either. I did put dates in the email so hopefully that’ll be a thing. But they’re a rental company and what do they care that I can’t function in capitalism, or as an adult, without assistance I can’t get?

I’m asking for help again because I am at my wits end. I don’t know what I’m supposed to do. I’ve worked and begged and struggled and hoped and I cannot get anything working for me. If I could find a place to live that was cheaper, I’d do it. If I could live with my family I would - but if I moved back home 1) I’d be home and 2) I wouldn’t be able to keep my job where I’m at which I was LUCKY to be able to get back after everything.

I’m just…

I don’t know what to do. I feel like maybe I should have just stayed with my ex and dealt with everything and shouldn’t have said anything.

Anyway - if you can help me with anything I would greatly appreciate some financial assistance. I hate that I keep having to ask but I can’t seem to catch a break so I’m just going to make shit work I guess.

How do you protect yourself from being stalked online by your parents?

I often get messages from teens living with their abusive parents telling me about how terrifying it is for them to even look at my blog in case their parent finds out. I was a teenager before social networking on the internet. Honestly, when I was a teenager there was barely an internet yet. So, I don’t know how people protect themselves but I feel like probably there are ways. If you know please do share! A lot of people would find it helpful.

Advice for keeping your phone safe in toxic environments:

Keep things in google apps

Use the internet on apps that aren’t Safari

Inform your friends and if you want to be really sneaky use code when texting

I was in this situation a while ago, another thing to do is you can make second accounts on your social media and block your parents account so they don’t find it

For social media, I either go by a different name/photo w/e and block my family or I just make a second account and block them all again.

And I’ve always had a password on everything, so they can’t go through it and I won’t let them.

Fake/second accounts are great for this, as long as you still use your other accounts for safe messages and websites, etc so they don’t get suspicious when they check it. Also, only deleting the parts of your search history that your parents would object to is less suspect than deleting the whole thing.

If they’re being sneaky and checking things while you’re not around, make sure to log out of all social media after using it and try to have a slightly different password for each one.

Let your friends and other people know so that they don’t accidentally send unsafe messages to your main account.

I just discovered Hide It Pro. It looks like an audio manager but it’s actually a secret vault where you can store apps your abusive parents will lose their minds over. Anyone ever use this?

Posting this for others who need it. I grew up in the age where parents could — and sometimes did — read their children’s journals so they could monitor them for “unchristian” influences. To think of all the ways hyper-cray-cray parents can spy on their kids now, it’s downright terrifying.

This could also be incredibly helpful for those who are in a toxic/abusive relationship and are trying to communicate with others to get out.

If your parents/abuser might know your passwords (or require you tell them your passwords), turning on 2 factor authentication or other security measures can be helpful.

Just for once I’d like to tell the gate agents and flight attendants that my folding wheelchair is going into the onboard closet and not have them tell me there’s “no room”. Bitch that’s a wheelchair closet, not a “your bags” closet. Move your damn bags where they belong.

Ok, so according to my friendly aviation expert, this is a Big Fucking Deal. In fact, if an airline argues with you about putting your wheelchair in the wheelchair closet or even suggests there may not be room, unless there is already another passenger’s wheelchair in that closet, they have violated federal law.

CFR Title 14, Chapter II, Subchapter D, Part 382, Subpart E, Section 382.67, Subsection (e)

“As a carrier, you must never request or suggest that a passenger not stow his or her wheelchair in the cabin to accommodate other passengers (e.g., informing a passenger that stowing his or her wheelchair in the cabin will require other passengers to be removed from the flight), or for any other non-safety related reason (e.g., that it is easier for the carrier if the wheelchair is stowed in the cargo compartment).”

This is hugely important because it means that if this happens to you, you should report their asses to the DOT. Why? Because these statistics are published every year for every airline, and the airline gets a huge ass fine for every violation. If we want to see change, we need to make airlines literally pay every time they treat us this way.
