There’s a tiktok account called ‘Spotted In National City’, and it’s mostly just videos of the semi-regular weird and wild goings-on in the city. Sometimes it’s clips of an alien battle, and other times it’s just video of a dog wearing a particularly exciting hat at the park.

But the most viral video on the account is of none other than Supergirl and Lena Luthor.

It’s a compilation of blurry clips. The first shows the pair walking side-by-side away from the remains of an inevitably-ruined L-corp press conference, when Miss Luthor leans up to press a quick kiss to Supergirl’s cheek, prompting the superhero to immediately walk headlong straight into light pole.

The second clip is of Supergirl frantically trying to right the light that is now barely hanging on at a precarious angle. And the last clip reveals a sheepish Supergirl shuffling her feet as she watches some electrical workers stare at the pole—now completely on the ground—before it pans to focus on Lena Luthor, who can be seen trying to contain her laughter just beyond the hero’s shoulder.

The comments on the tiktok mostly just consist of people screaming over the rich red impression of lips still visible on Supergirl’s cheek by the end of the video.

If this is post finale, I like to imagine that Lena barely even tried to contain her laughter. Maybe she snorts when Kara collides with the lamppost. And then she giggles as Kara tries to bend it back into shape. But by the time the city contractors are on the scene, Lena is just full belly laughing-- cackling, even-- as Kara shuffles in chagrin.

Because I like to think that after the finale, Lena can unrestrained laugh because she is finally, genuinely happy for the first time in her life. And as sheepish as Kara is, secretly she'd do it all again, just to hear Lena laugh.

Things with no gay/queer rep can be progressive and groundbreaking actually and need to be part of the discussion of representation in media

Like,,,,

A show about an interracial disabled couple (that’s written well) is just as progressive as a show about two gay characters

A show with multiple well written POC characters, especially in leading roles, is progressive and should be part of the discussion

Representation has never only meant queer rep.

And I hate that so many of POC and disabled people see that shows and books that represent them, not get included or acknowledge in the discussion about representation.

Just because something doesn’t represent you, doesn’t mean it’s not representing someone else.

Yes queer rep is good, of course it is (I’m neither cis nor het) but I can not begin to understand how so many of you will just,,,ignore shows that represent POC and/or disabled people in a well written and positive way because it’s not what you are. Or tell us that when we mention them as good examples of rep that it’s not really representation.

The world exist outside of you and your experience.

“The world exists outside of you and your experience” is like literally half the point of representation! It's not just about seeing yourself. It’s about seeing people who are different than you, represented as whole characters with their own lives and stories. It’s about building compassion for people with experiences you might not be able to directly relate to.

To important not to share

oh yeah?
yeah. we should go out sometime.
that’s a bit forward, and a little unprofessional asking me during work-
if that’s not a no, i’ll go ahead and pick you up later. say around 7?

“Kara’s face contorts. She looks like she’s about to say something, but thinks better of it. Reaches out instead and pulls Lena into her arms. Lena holds herself stiff for a moment, but Kara feels so warm and solid and good against her that it only takes a second before she gives in.”

I saw this amazing post by @searidings and I totally stole it. You can read the whole fic here.

Just realized that both coming out day and indigenous peoples day are on the 11th this year so here's your reminder from your local queer native to not let Indigenous Peoples Day get ignored and forgotten this year. Support natives even if they're not queer this october 11th, and don't let white + colonized narratives be the main focus of the day.

Also I highly encourage white people to reblog this
