I keep thinking about how Regulus’s door sign was so clearly about Sirius.
And I bet Sirius completely ignored it.
The sign definitely has disgruntled sibling vibes, but I feel like he should have known that it would only encourage Sirius to barge into his room out of spite.
Unless that was secretly (subconsciously) the goal and the sign was a ploy to get Sirius to come spend time in his room with him. He'd make a big show of being annoyed every time, of course, inevitably ensuring that Sirius would pop in unannounced again.
Me & my sister shared a room and we put a sign up against our mother when we were hmm maybe around 12? Didn't work (also mum tore it down pretty quickly). But it's why I always thought the sign was put up in a general cry for privacy, from Walburga as well as Sirius (and Sirius barging in was at least sometimes rather welcome).
(My younger brother doesn't have a sign on his door and I don't often go in to bother him but when I do he just tosses me out because at this point I'm at least 10kg smaller than him and he can)
There's also the question of why Regulus didn't remove the sign after Sirius left. He had 3 years MINIMUM to take it down if it was an honest attempt at keeping SIRIUS out. But he didn't. He either just never got around to taking it down, or he kept it up for sentimental value, it was aimed at his parents too.
Considering Sirius and Walburga’s habit of permanent sticking charms, I rather like the idea that Regulus, too, was a user and decided to permanently put up a Keep Out sign that no one could remove (’There were deep scratch marks in the paintwork below a small sign...’). Did Walburga or Sirius try to remove his pompous (and likely pointless) sign? Did Regulus desperately try to tear it off after Sirius left? Were the scratch marks left there by a distraught Walburga (or Sirius after he returned to Grimmauld Place) post Regulus’ death?

- icon size 70px, it will resize to that if you use a bigger one
- if you prefer to use sidebar image, size is max-width 268px
- 4 links, with option to use them or not and use only icons or icons + text

- to change the icons, you search the one you want here and pick the name, go back to the theme and search for <div class=“sidebarlinks”>. pick the icon you want to change and replace the class on the span <span class=“sf sf-home-o”>
