my high-school art teacher: You need to learn how to draw geometric shapes in order to– me, 15 years later: you are like a little baby. watch this
aaa I love how you color skin *^* do you have any tutorials??
Oh, I don’t ;; I didn’t expect anyone to ask me since I don’t think I’m good enough to teach anyone, but I don’t mind explaining a bit!
I use Paintool Sai, only use a couple of tools and normal mode of layers. This is how I choose colors:
I start by painting the base colors using the default brush. Each color is a different layer.
I create a new layer above the base skin layer and draw the shadows (shadow 1 tone) with the same brush. I usually use this option (my Sai is in spanish so i don’t know how it’s called in english, sorry):
I use the default water tool to smooth the lines and give the volume impression to the body. I erase the parts where there’s too much shadow with the eraser.
I make a new layer above the other using the same option and I take the skin tone again. Now I add more light to the parts I think the shadow is too strong to create more contrast. I use the brush to apply the color and the water tool to smooth.
Once I’m convinced I merge the layers (without merging the base color) and I create a new lauer above. I choose the shadow 2 tone and apply it to the parts that should be darker.
Again I take the water tool to smooth the lines and merge the layers.
Once the body shadows are done I take the brush with the shadow 2 tone and draw the shadows that get reflected on the body. Those are strong shadows so I’ll just smooth them a bit. I also corrected some mistakes I did.
Now it’s time for the lighting. I create another layer above the shadows and choose the skin color or a fair similar tone. I draw the lines with the brush and smooth with the water tool, just like with the shadows. I also usually add some shines to parts like shoulder, ass, knees, nose, lips, etc.
And it’s done! Now all it’s left is to finish the other parts. Here’s some example with a little darker skin tone.
I’m sorry I’m a horrible teacher, but hope the images can help a bit @_@
When you’re loving the villain arc but you’re beginning to really miss your protag kids to the point that you look forward to the little deku panel at the end of every chapter
“Don’t you remember, Eri? you haven’t just hurt people! You saved me, didn’t you? It’s not the power, it’s how you use it! Like…take a knife for example. sure, it’s dangerous, but the better it cuts, the more delicious food you can make! So I think you power is absolutely wonderful!”
Let’s be real. Unless your name is ‘Deku’ you can’t get away with calling King Explosion Murder ‘Kacchan’
Reblog if the girl on the right is as pretty as the girl on the left
