autumn always gives off this weird feeling... like, the colors are dull yet bright at the same time... and autumn always has this vintage feeling. it’s just so nice when it’s autumn and you’re walking through the forest when the air is cool and kinda warm at the same time, plus looking at old buildings adds onto the effect more... it’s honestly hard to explain but I love it.
There’s something about modern media using ‘ancient storytelling’ techniques that vibes so deeply with my soul. I’m a slut for stories that refuse to explain everything, that say fuck detailed lore, fuck narratives that make sense. I’m gonna make you feel like you’re reading a long lost fable, from a time where humans were rules by forces beyond comprehension, when the world was still vast and mysterious, where all we had was our love and virtue guiding us. We here to teach morals and create atmosphere only boys, no logic allowed.
over the garden wall 🤝 welcome to night vale
a weird specific type of nostalgia you can't quite put your finger on, especially when you hear the opening like "how the gentle wind beckons through the leaves as autumn colors fall" vs "a friendly desert community where the sun is hot, the moon is beautiful, and mysterious lights pass overhead while we all pretend to sleep. welcome to night vale" and get thrown back to the exact same incredibly specific feeling every time
I should be allowed into every museum’s archives actually

basically if disney tanked tomorrow and never made any content again i would point and laugh and cheer and sing and roast a marshed mallow over the fire, oh what a beautiful sight, oh what a beautiful world where art could be art again
To anyone who thinks "oh, but I like Marvel/Star Wars/the animated canon," I have good news! Lots of other people like these things too! In fact, so many people like these things that, if Disney folded, someone else would snap the licences right up! In fact, I can confidently say that if all copyrights were cancelled tomorrow, you would have *way more* Star Wars movies, and they would be allowed to take actual chances in terms of their narrative and character decisions! You don't actually *need* an enormous multinational monopoly named after a long-dead founder to bring you content featuring characters and scenarios created by other, often long-dead, people! You don't *need* someone charging you rent for something that would otherwise be free! In fact, you need that like you need a hole in the head!
Keep in mind that Disney is the reason that we’ve had a 20 year pause in stories entering the public domain, at the cost of so much culture that could have been produced, all for the sake of their bottom line.
Elizabeth, an avid reader, immediately snapping her book shut when Darcy says women should read extensively is peak petty behaviour and one of my favourite parts of the movie
man: has anyone ever told you you’re beautiful? me: oh no sir, today is my first day out of doors and papà forbade mirrors in the house lest we fall victim to vanity
i advise all women to stop wearing makeup and cut their hair. when you walk down the street, practice your bitch face. always look straight ahead. carry pepper spray and use it liberally. sharpen your teeth with a pocketknife. snarl at catcallers. hold hands with your friends in the middle of the road and scream into the oncoming traffic. vandalize the white house. shave off your eyebrows. break each of your fingers, just to see what it feels like. scream again. paint. kick men in the balls
my notion of time while quarantined is like this. I can’t believe it’s october already
it’s not that deep unless you’re on a bus. then it is always that deep
I need a minimum of 2 hours at the start of every day to just vibe before I actually begin my day lol
