One of my favorite thing about fandom is the fan fiction rabbit hole I always fall in. Like at first, upon finishing the canon material, I’m all “ok I want cannon verse fic, tell me what happens after the story, or before, but I’m super critical of characterization and relation to canon events” and now, my ass out here like “Alright how about a *spins wheel* Victorian Era *spin* bakery AU with *throws dart* a slow burn love triangle”

It’s soooooooooooooo true. I very rarely read au. Then… @evenifidie ran her aubb and I started writing one and then I started reading them more and more. And now… I read android!Cas meets watergod!Dean and short circuits… And don’t even get me started on the joy that is @spncoldesthits crack fiction weirdness…

But it all started with fancymebob and her enthusiasm for au…

It’s reached the point now where canon/fanon/au is merging in my brain, but then I’m mainly SPN and they regularly co-opt things from the fandom and drop them into the show…

in japanese, there’s a term for a person who dual wields swords called “ryoutoutsukai”, literally meaning something along the lines of “two sword user”. it’s ALSO a euphemism for bisexuality

Have you ever seen lists of top anime openings on YouTube? You’d expect the results to be nothing but people listing their top tens, but…

Thirty isn’t unreasonable. I mean, I’ve tried listing my top ten anime OPs before, but ten just isn’t enough, y’know?

Fifty is pushing it, but this list is actually culled from two other lists, so obviously a lot of thought went into it, and I can’t fault them that.

Wow okay one hundred is a lot. At twenty-five minutes, that’s fifteen seconds dedicated to each one… just a tiny little taste.

That #1 worries me. Does that mean this video contains one hundred OPs, and there’s at least one other with the same amount? Or is it more reasonable, with the top one hundred split across multiple videos?

At this point you’re just ranking the openings of every anime you’ve seen.

How. I know that it says it includes both openings and endings, but…? Do they list every single song from One Piece, Naruto, and Detective Conan? Even so, I don’t see how that could add up to–
