She shared those words as she’s watching the river where 142 000 slaves were sent to South America and an other 5 million were sent to Brazil from other regions of Africa : “I came here to thank, to emanate love to this land, to embrace their descendants, touch the trees, learn and to plunge into the roots of Brazil. It was difficult to visit the Slavery Memorial, but I breathed and I just thought of gratitude.”
