like idk how to tell you that sometimes people who are mentally ill will accidentally harm other mentally ill people with their mental illness and nobody is at fault. i have multiple times had someone's symptoms trigger me. I had a paranoid dude tell me that he would know if i ever said or thought anything negative about him and my own paranoia made me spend several hours freaking out that he could read my mind. neither of us are perpetrators or victims. who cares.
in a vacuum you aren't wrong but this post was actually about how psychotic people are held to impossible standards and expected and demanded to grovel and beg for forgiveness for being visibly psychotic at risk of being treated like we're abusive or subhuman for completely benign shit
ordering people to apologise for things they did outside their control as part of a condition they may have for the rest of their life is not kind or fair and it will make their mental health worse. it would be like ordering someone to apologise for vomiting or breaking out in a rash. at a certain point if you are going to demand that kind of self-flagellation on the regular from someone you need to seriously ask yourself if you are equipped to deal with the realities of a human being suffering from a debilitating illness.
also i don't know where this idea came from in general but i see responses like that screenshot on every single post like this so in case anyone is genuinely worried: mentally ill and disabled people already know that their symptoms are seen as a burden on their families and loved ones by most people. they do in fact "remember that part," they do not need to be told, they are aware, society has got that one handled for you. i don't know where this idea of the evil heartless mentally ill person who hurts everyone around them and doesn't care came from or why it became so popular on here (i mean, i have a few uncharitable guesses) but there is no reality where a pressing issue in mental health right now is people with debilitating symptoms not being stigmatised enough.
How to feel like a person?

something i really enjoy in horror movies is when the victim(s) start to hunt the killer in return in order to kill them first, both because it's an interesting parallel that (if done well) asks the audience to consider the question of when violence and killing are a justifiable means to an end in order to survive and at what point it crosses the line from acceptable to abhorrent and condemns the perpetrator, and also because it's a little bit funny. like i can do that too bitch you're not special.
Being a nonbinary lesbian is like I don't have a gender but my gender is dyke and I'm not a guy but I am one of the guys and also I'm not a woman but when people talk about women I'm included. Hope this clears things up
