Does anyone have an update on where things are at with the writers strike? It's disappeared from my various feeds and algorithms.

The writers' strike is ongoing and the studios are still not returning to the negotiating table. Unfortunately a lot of the coverage has tapered off because we're on 50+ days of striking and it's not new anymore. The last strike in 2007 lasted 100 days, so don't be surprised if this strike lasts as long, or even longer.

The biggest recent news is that the Directors' Guild of America (DGA) voted to ratify their new agreement with the studios (article from June 23), and it appears likely that the actors' guild (SAG-AFTRA) will also take a deal instead of striking (article from June 24). Although this is disappointing news, it's completely expected. During previous strikes, the WGA held its own without other unions going on strike. Which is to say—don't be disheartened by the news that there won't be a triple strike. The WGA is strong enough!

Please keep vocally supporting the WGA online to keep the pressure on the studios & to keep WGA members motivated and encouraged! In the recent Undertale newsletter, Toby Fox showed off an unused scene that would have occurred in the Judgement Hall had the player decided to speedrun the game! This scene features Sans chastising the player for being early and slowly eating an ice cream for about a full minute while an original, slow song plays. I’m sure this would have been quite a headache for speedrunners!

sometimes I randomly think about the time a girl posted in this girls only Facebook group I’m in telling everyone how she broke up with her boyfriend and he lied saying that he lost the spare key she gave him, only to then break into her apartment when she wasn’t home and steal the cat they’d adopted while they were together, but then he denied having done this and she didn’t really have proof that he took the cat since he wouldn’t let her come into his place and look for it. And then another girl saw this post and knew her ex-boyfriend, and she was like “girl. I used to hook up with your mans back in xxxx and I still have his number. If you want, I’ll hit him up and get him to invite me back to his place and see if your cat’s there.” And the OP was like “bet.”

So this woman hit up homie dog, asked him out for drinks, went home with him, slept with him, and then woke up in the middle of the night and TOOK THE CAT. Like she had only said that she would confirm if the cat was there but then she took it upon herself to steal this woman’s cat back. Like she full on Trojan horsed this man and then hit up homegirl like “I got the goods. Where you wanna meet.” And then the two of them posted a photo of them together with the cat to the group.

And I just think women supporting women is so beautiful.

Ok it now feels vital I explain to you the exact thought process behind this whole post. I had to figure out who Leonardo the ninja turtle was named after because I was 98% sure it was the da vinci guy but everytime I said "leonardo da vinci" to myself it didn't sound right and then I started thinking about something I heard a comedian say in a bit about the ninja turtles. Very good comedian - but basically what the comedian said was that one of the ninja turtle's names wasn't even from the renaissance era. And keep in mind I have a memory-issues-disorder and somewhere in my mind Leonardo Da Vinci got crossed with Vincent Van Gogh - too many fucking V's too keep track of. and i , connecting the dots, thought "surely it was Leonardo who wasn't from the renaissance era because da vinci (van gogh) was from the 1800s!" But I just had to make sure BECAUSE I was 90% sure that Da Vinci didn't actually paint starry knight. Now keep in mind this WHOLE TIME the tiktok of the two white twins saying "who painted the Mona Lisa? Dah Vinki?" was just Looping in my head and for the longest time, IDK HOW since I watched it , or listened to it I don't actually remember the video Which ended being the biggest issue, ever since I listened to it I thought the punchline was that Da Vinci didn't actually paint the Mona Lisa and that they were saying it in a funny questioning way because they had no idea. I've loved art since I was a baby I knew who painted the Mona Lisa at 6 but for some reason seeing that tiktok in 2020 or 2021 almost PERMANENTLY altered my brain waves to think "No Da Vinci didn't actually paint the Mona Lisa." And then somehow I got it in my brain that it was actually Michelangelo who painted the Mona Lisa and the only reason that made sense to me was because both of them were M names . So now I'm sitting here wondering "who was Leonardo the Ninja Turtle named after?" and looking up "who posted the Mona Lisa" All because of a fucking dumbass tiktok from 2020 or 2021 of two white guys saying Da Vinci funny somehow making my brain think Michaelangelo painted the Mona Lisa , getting Da Vinci and Van Gogh mixed up because I couldn't use Da Vinci's most famous painting as a time staple, meaning that I Meant To Look Up "who painted the starry night" just so I could figure out If Da Vinci painted the fucking starry night or not just to look up "who posted the Mona Lisa" because my brain was looping that fucking dumbass tiktok just to get the answer I ACTUALLY WANTED which was WHO was LEONARDO the TENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLE FUCKING NAMED AFTER. LEONARDO DA VINCI ! LEONARDO TMNT IS NAMED AFTER LEONARDO DA FUCKING VINCI AND VINCENT VAN GOGH PAINTED STARRY NIGHT AND MICHELANGELO WAS A SCULPTOR AND IS THE FUCKING ORANGE ONE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
