Here, have doodles of Steven meeting Morty! I’m still trying to get a grasp of how to draw Morty, mainly because giving him a neck makes him weird (unlike Steven) but I wanted to show these off. They’d make good friends I think, mainly because they can complain about relatives who’s messes they have to keep fixing.
I’m pretty sure at some point Morty’s heard of or even visited Homeworld, by the way.
And he’d teach Steven curse words because let’s face it, sometimes you just gotta yell “fuck” as loud as you can to feel better.
this was supposed to be just a quick sketch but uh… i went a bit overboard whoops. (Looked better in my head but eh ┐(´ー｀)┌)
ok so I’m really into the Steven Universe x Gravity Falls crossover!!!!
honestly, I don’t really see Steven vibing with the residents of Gravity Falls, so I don’t see him voluntarily staying there, let alone working there, until he’s made a few connections with a few people there. I like the idea that he’d decide to work there for the summer because he became friends with Soos and he likes hanging out with the twins.
I also looooove the idea that Steven is super gullible for all the “””oddities”””. Considering magic and aliens and monsters are all very very real for him, he doesn’t really have any reason to be skeptical, especially towards the stuff he knows isn’t just gem-related. Also, he trusts Soos, and Soos genuinely believes in a lot of it lmaooo
For whatever reason the GF/SU crossover has become super popular! And this one’s my fave by far, because like:
Imagine Steven starts traveling with the Stans. They encounter so many interesting creatures and discover mysterious places (some of them are gem-related, not a majority though, and it makes Steven really excited because yay finally something that’s not his responsibility to solve!).
Imagine whenever they meet any creature that can communicate with them, the twins are wary and ready to fight but Steven is immediately like “oh my gosh I have so many questions!! How are you who are you can we be friends??” And sometimes it backfires, but other times it ends with a pleasant evening spent talking to two yetis while Stanford takes notes and Stanley wrestles a third yeti for fun.
Imagine Steven learning to navigate in storms, and fishing (though he releases anything he catches), and reading all of Stanford’s notes about different creatures and learning about them… It seems really cool because it’s no longer gem stuff. He’s out there and exploring the world like he wanted! But also, he’s still surrounded by mystery and adventure, and sometimes magic and phenomena he doesn’t understand. But it’s not his responsibility to understand all of this anymore. And as Stanley teaches him, sometimes it’s easier to shrug things off and not seek answers.
Meanwhile the gruncles start sending home photos including Steven and they’re like “sorry kids we adopted a new nephew” and Mabel is super excited, a new friend!! And she’s like “gruncle Ford says Steven’s magic and not all human, do you think he might be a vampire???” and boy oh boy when they finally meet and her first guess turns out to be more or less correct? She’s extatic. She also loves that when they meet, she has her shooting star sweater on and he has his star shirt and she’s like “Star Kids!!”
Meanwhile Dipper’s immensely jealous because Steven has cool powers and must’ve skipped the awkward phase of puberty somehow (spoilers: his version of the awkward phase were parts of his body growing randomly and his skin turning pink) but then Steven shows genuine interest in Dipper’s work and hobbies and doesn’t call him a nerd or anything, and Dipper realizes “oh hey this guy is actually genuinely nice”
Basically, many thoughts head full
