"I look for his aros everyday"

@eros-aro

Aromantic and shoving it down your throat cause you won't know otherwise. this is my only intention.

STOP USING THE WORD WOKE TO TALK ABOUT YOUR STUPID WHITE QUEER BULLSHIT!!!

plain text: stop using the word woke to talk about your stupid white queer bullshit!!! end plain text.

Woke is a word created by Black people for Black people as a reminder of police brutality against Black people. It’s already been ruined by the far right, and now you’re learning it from them without knowing its history while routinely excluding queer people of color from the queer community. I’m so fucking tired of white queers stealing AAVE terms like this and repackaging it as “Gen Z” or “gay” slang

AND you still use it as a derogatory word. It’s never with a positive connotation or about raising awareness. It’s always “folx is a silly unnecessarily woke word” and “amab and afab are just woke ways of saying male and female” when no!!! Woke is for Black people! and it’s not a bad thing! Stop fucking treating it like it’s a bad thing!!!!!

nonblack people are not only allowed, but encouraged to reblog

rbing this every time i see some bullshit

Let me start off by saying that I have been keeping up with Miraculous Ladybug, even though it has been around for years and is still going strong with the will they they won't they can they stuff. There is something interesting that I would like to note about the latest episodes, though, and that is that Marinette is kinda arospec. That will sound weird to anyone who has seen the show, because we all know that she is romanticly attracted to Adrian (big part of the show). But in this last season, where Adrian actually has feelings for her as well, you see her quirky self sabotaging when around him become intentional. She avoids percieved romantic settings, touch, and language when with him, can't say I love you back, and openly discusses these issues and how she feels with her friend saying, "I don't know what is wrong with me." Another thing about this is that it seems to come from trauma. A past where she was bullied everyday with bugs in her locker that crawl out at her, and the guy she liked pulling a "prank" with a gift box full of spiders that made her fall backwards off of a diving platform. Trauma induced aromanticism is very real. It's cool to be able to recognize an arospec whose aromanticism is tied to a traumatic event, as I haven't seen very much about this kind of thing. If I had to guess, I would say that they are a minority in the Aro community. The show doesn't use terms like aromantic and arospec, but I would definitely say that Marinette is outside of the norm when it comes to romance, which has been a big part of her character and the plot throughout the show. So here's to arospec Marinette, for now at least, which doesn't make it any less important.

Aro rep in webtoons?!

I don't know how many people love to read webtoons, but lately I've been seeing some aromantic representation in the ones I read. The first Aromantic rep I saw came from Cursed Princess Club in the form of Prez, who expressed how when she was younger and arranged for marriage, she started to feel sick and life kind of lost color. She gets out of the marriage and banished from her kingdom, and she gets to live her life fulfilled by the club she started and the good she does for other princesses. She mentions not wanting to get married multiple times, even when being pressured by her mother and it possibly being able to cure her curse. The other time was in Not even Bones, where the two main characters, thought to be love interests, had a very blatant and open conversation about aromanticism and asexuality. It was very straight forward, talked about how societal pressures swayed them into seeing things a certain way, despite that not being their experience. It was very clear, very sweet, and included a cute little graphic of them holding the aro and ace flags at the end. It truly made my day the other day

conversation starter?

Just want to find other Aros to talk about experiences with, but don't know any personally. 😕😕😕
