This morning on tiger and bunny lines that kill me: Origami saying he watches Humans so he can understand them better. This poor kid was so deeply excluded and isolated that he literally separates himself from humanity. His power is literally masking. Doesn't believe he can really understand how other people feel or think. Ninja's are his special interest.
Which is to say I'm delighted to announce I'm assigning Ivan autism. The feel of paper creasing under his fingers for the next fold in his paper stars is his favorite texture.
He's got his favorite meals and doesn't enjoy other ones and when was in hero training he Needed go pack on more calories so he had to try a bunch of new foods to find something calorically dense enough to keep him functioning. It was sensory hell and he almost dropped out of the program before Edward passed him an energy bar that was Just right. The way he chomps them down (the only way to get his needed calories in) makes Bison a little nervous since "doesn't that get boring?" "Huh? Uh... No?" There is definitely some tension of Antonio trying to get him to try new foods and Ivan Not wanting to. It's a whole thing.
The first design for his suit had a particular fabric on the inside on the arms and legs that made moving a sensory Nightmare. But he tried so hard to push through it. Kotetsu manages to notice through his depression and his probably well developed functional alcoholism at the time. That Origami moves better in training than during actual events. "Is your suit pinching? Cause Wooooh had that before and it was a Nightmare. Just ask you company to fix it." When he screws up the courage to they're thrilled. They thought he was freezing cause of a panic response not a bad suit! They're more than happy to change it. "Why'd you wait so long to tell us this is an easy fix!" Ivan who has never once received an accomodation without so much pain it's like pulling his own teeth: "... Sorry..."
Anyway. Origami Cyclone assigned autism.

To Celebrate Edward’s Cameo in 2e05 Have These Headcanons I Forgot Were In My Drafts:
- He’s [[Neutral Asexual]].
- He never really considered art before, but after he goes back to prison he decided to look into some of the art therapy available to the inmates. He tried a few things and decided he liked sculpting and embroidery.
- Ivan visits him every Friday. (We know that in Canon Ivan has a specific day set aside to visit Edward, but we don’t know what day.)
- He has [[Hyperosmia]]. Due to that, he’s naturally picky about how things smell.
- He’s an orphan.
- He likes music, and is a pretty good DJ.
- He likes to skateboard.
- His top five favorite anime are Ergo Proxy, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Akira, The Big O!, and Noein: to your other self.
- He loves creepy stop motion.
- Ivan held on to his things while he was in prison. It all fit into only three boxes - one box for his clothes, one box for his CDs & DVDs, and one box for the rest.
- He has a therapist he sees at least twice a month.
- Ivan got him a job working on his transport crew at Helperides “until you find a job you actually want/like”, but he actually enjoys the work and likes the stability of the job.
- He only lets his hair grow back out a few inches.
- He mostly goes by Ed, only Ivan and their teachers at Academy called him Edward before. Ivan is the only one allowed to ever call him Eddie.
- Kotetsu helped him get an apartment, but he spends a lot of his time over at Ivan’s.
- He can’t stand being idle for too long, so he always has a project or something to keep himself busy.
- He has his ear lobes pierced.
- Now that he’s settled his issues and they’ve made up, he’s Origami Cyclone’s Number One Fan. He even has a small collection of his merch.
- Likes leggings and tighter/fitted pants but hates tight/fitted shirts.
- His favorite color is olive green.
