The underground society known as the Community, the last known surviving humans on Earth, are facing a serious resource crisis. In order to survive, they must make a grim decision, one person must leave each year. You got the least amount of votes. You must now go up to the unlivable surface.

You walk out into the barren land. The area around the survival center had been slightly green and upkept because of the growing space, but the further out you go, the more it becomes a desert.

You've been walking for a while and all you have on your back is the supplies they gave you for a merciful end. Only just a precaution so that my eventual death won't ring in their ears with grief.

I then soon see the barren landscape start to affect my belongings. My helper was made to like simple things and holds onto lines for support in its everyday lifestyle. The lines started to fade and they got slower and slower until the final one deplenished and the death soon followed.

They were right all along.

Realize how hard it is for them to get noticed. That's all it takes. Once you have that, it's mostly just like making a short story in a journal that someone may or may never stumble upon while searching through your stuff years to come.
