Emu - Chill Place :)

@emuwithlazareyez

Eh... where am I... Icon from: https://excessive-moisture.tumblr.com/

I’m sure this will hit the news soon but just in case it’s not out yet — the Governor of Maryland just signed an executive order tonight declaring Maryland a sanctuary state for trans people seeking gender-affirming care, and for all people who provide such care or help trans people access such care. This executive order includes an explicit refusal to cooperate with law enforcement/prosecutors in any other state where accessing, providing, or helping people access such care is now or will soon be criminalized.

Yes it is absolutely a privilege to be able to travel or to think about moving but if someone can access the resources to move or visit to get what they need to survive and be less likely to be actively targeted for LITERAL EUGENICS AND GENOCIDE, then they should and we should support them.

Please spread the word.

Minnesota is also a sanctuary state, welcome trans people!

Sun-Spider was absolutely one of my favorite assignments on the film. I poured over Dayn Broder’s original designs to include as many design markers as I could, while trying to see if I could plus up the design. Had to make the wheelchair a mech that could follow her around.” — Kris Anka

“young adult dystopian novels are so unrealistic lmao like they always have some random teenage girl rising up to inspire the world to make change.”

a hero emerges

And just like in the novels, grown men and women are going out of their way to destroy her. Support our hero.

And it’s not even like it doesn’t happen regularly.

Teenage girls are amazing.

Sometimes they’re not even teenagers

This isn’t a coincidence. Revolutions almost always happen when the population of a country is at its youngest and that’s a lot more true nowadays with social media.

Claudette Colvin was actually the first one to refuse her seat in Montgomery, Alabama to a white passenger. The movement chose to promote Rosa Parks as the figure for that form of protest because Claudette was a pregnant 15-year-old girl.

Barbara Rose Johns was a 16-year-old who organized a student strike protesting segregated schools. This strike, after gaining support of the NAACP, became a lawsuit that turned into Brown vs. The Board of Education and resulted in the desegregation of U.S schools nationally.

7th-grader Mary Beth Tinker, disturbed by the Vietnam War, decided to wear an arm band with a peace sign on it in protest. Her school suspended her. Her family filed a suit, Tinker vs. Des Moines, which reached the Supreme Court and ruled in her favor, ensuring that students and teachers maintain their right to free speech while in school.

Freddie & Truus Oversteegen were sisters who joined a Dutch resistance movement in WWII in their teens. They lured, ambushed, and assassinated Nazis and Dutch collaborators. They also blew up a railway line, transported Jewish refugees to new hiding places, and worked in an emergency hospital.

Our history books may like to showcase male figures, but behind every movement is a young girl ready to make a change. It was true then, it’s true now, and future generations of teenage girls will go on to inspire progress, whether they’re credited or not.

We were raised on these stories of fighting back against oppression, but then the people who wrote them or read them to us act shocked we turned out ready to fight facism even while being anti-social.

There are many reasons why women’s history is so often elided or erased in our education. But one of those reasons is that so MANY of the women who made history, did so for reasons that challenged existing structures of power…and usually in accessible, related ways that modern day institutions feared students learning from.

Which path should he choose?

The path of the warrior, the path of the scholar, or the path of the artist?

he should wander away and have a picnic while he thinks about what path to choose

Great idea! But where should he have the picnic?

Under the tree, or under the old fort?

By the sea, so he can enjoy the sound of the waves

A lovely choice!

Should he build a sandcastle to pass the time? Or perhaps go fishing?

Perhaps he could collect shells he finds interesting

Sounds fun!

Which shell should he pick up?

This one

That's not a shell, it's a tiny earpiece.

Should he listen to music? Or to the mysterious pre-recorded message?

Avatar

He should give it back to the crab in the largest shell, they thought they had lost their wave-pod and are grateful he found it!

The crab wants to give a gift in return.

Should he accept the gift of power, or the gift of knowledge?

Avatar

the gift of friendship :)

Friendship acquired!

Should they celebrate with pizza or ice cream?

The crab friend cannot eat either of those! Let's split a nice seaweed salad instead. :)

So many options!

Should they get tossed salad, wiggly salad, or spiky salad?

Seasar salad

Nothing beats getting it straight from the source

Should they use scissors or claws to cut the seaweed?

What about that sword in the first panel?

The circle is complete.

Through choices, friendship, and salad, he found his way to the path of the warrior. But he won't walk it alone.

Their path is just beginning, but this story is over.

Thank you to everyone who participated!

oh my god

Reblogging again for my inflation artist followers. XDDD

This is absolutely the most unnecessary addition to this post you could have ever made.

Don’t think any of my followers are German nor do I think my followers actually exist, but spreading for visibility anyways

This is actually a fairly common practice for fascists. Never tear down their propaganda with your bare hands, always use a pocket knife or something

Yeah this has been happening in America too, if you can then I recommend bringing your own anti-nazi stickers to put over the nazi ones

Please be careful, the world is a crazy place!

In addition, wheatpasted posters can contain fine shards of glass mixed up in the glue. In general it is safe to assume that removing street art with your bare hands can result in injury, especially if the art is politically motivated, but fascists in particular have zero qualms about hurting people who try to tear down their propaganda.

I needed this.

Thank you to all the people who posted this so I ended up seeing it. I really needed this right now. Thank you!

Yeah… Not gonna lie… I cried…

We need more people like this

Goddamn it stop making me feel human

The therapist I wanna be.

Text in the image:

“I’m a therapist and keep this poster in my waiting room, apparently it’s saved a few lives.”

I don’t like the phrase “a cry for help.” I just don’t like how it sounds. When somebody says to me, “I’m thinking about suicide. I have a plan: I just need a reason not to do it,” the last thing I see is helplessness.

I think your depression has been beating you up for years. It’s called you ugly, and stupid, and pathetic, and a failure, for so long that you’ve forgotten that it’s wrong. You don’t see any good in yourself, and you don’t have any hope.

But still here you are: you’ve come over to me, banged on my door and said, “HEY! Staying alive is REALLY HARD right now! Just give me something to fight with! I don’t care if it’s a stick! Give me a stick and I can stay alive!”

How is that helpless? I think that’s incredible. You’re like a marine: trapped for years behind enemy lines. Your gun has been taken away, you’re out of ammo, you’re malnourished, and you’ve probably caught some kind of jungle virus that’s making you hallucinate giant spiders.

And you’re still just going, “GIVE ME A STICK. I’M NOT DYING OUT HERE.” “A cry for help” makes it sound like I’m supposed to take pity on you, but you don’t need my pity. This isn’t pathetic. This is the will to survive. This is how humans lived long enough to become the dominant species.

With NO hope, running on NOTHING, you’re ready to cut through a hundred miles of hostile jungle with nothing but a stick, if that’s what it takes to get to safety.

All I’m doing is handing out sticks.

You’re the one saying alive.

I legit cried at this. I’ve needed to hear it put this way. Bless this post.

Every time I see this post I stop to read the whole image. It always helps — even on the good days.

Because it wasn’t weakness. It wasn’t shameful to seek help. It wasn’t pathetic to “cry for help”. I was looking for a stick, be that from myself or from someone else. I was trying to find a way out. I was trying to heal myself.

this is fuckin incredible.

I’m sorry if I repost to many of these, but if it could be someone’s “stick” then it’s worth it

For anyone that needs to read this today.

They also have this one and I think quite a few others but these two I keep on my phone and pull up on my bad days.

Text on second poster:

‘WHY ARE YOU SO LAZY?’

But you’re not lazy. Lazy is when you shrug things off because you can’t summon up the give-a-damn. When you’re curled up tight in your chair at your desk, alone and grey and desperately wishing that you had your life in order, that you did all those things you had to do, that it didn’t feel like breaking rocks just to feed and clothe yourself and get some sleep, that’s not lazy.

People don’t understand. You tell them “It’s hard.” They tell you “No it isn’t, you’re just lazy.”

You start to wonder if they’re right.

is breaking those rocks easy for everyone else? Are they that much stronger than you?

They don’t look like they’re struggling.

“Just try harder,” they say. But you’re trying. It’s not working.

Breaking boulders in your path until you’re spent isn’t lazy. And you do it day after day after day.

You’re not lazy. Most people don’t have those rocks to break. They don’t even know what it’s like to have to break rocks to get things done. They don’t understand how hard you have to work, and how hopeless you can feel, when you try and fail to do what they do so easily. Things are harder for you. They really are. And if those people had to deal with your problems, they wouldn’t be doing any better.

You’re not lazy. You’re not weak. You’re fighting hard. I guess I just want you to know that I know that.

because I haven't seen a whole heap of decent information about this... I thought I'd do a beginner's guide to dissociation

disorders that can cause dissociation include:

  • DID
  • OSDD
  • PTSD
  • depression
  • OCD
  • BPD
  • DPDR
  • anxiety
  • eating disorders
  • some people also experience dissociation due to chronic pain

being dissociated can feel like, but is not limited to:

  • feeling disconnected from the world
  • feeling "blurry", "buzzy", "foggy", or "out of it"
  • not feeling any emotions
  • not feeling any physical pain
  • not remembering whole periods of time
  • feeling like you're floating outside of your body
  • your brain constantly going in and out of focus

dissociation is generally broken down into two categories:

  • derealisation: the feeling that the world around you is unreal, foggy, or just out of reach
  • depersonalisation: the feeling of being outside of yourself, or of not feeling real

I hope this is a helpful post, and that I've made people more aware of what dissociation actually is. if you have any follow-up questions, please feel free to ask!

There are normal kinds of dissociation, which almost everybody does. For instance, you can be driving down the road and suddenly realize you don’t really remember the last two miles because you were thinking about something else. That’s normal dissociation; almost everybody does that.

However, some levels of “phasing out” can be really disruptive to your life. Here’s an online test you can take to see how much you’re dissociating.

To everyone disappointed about Happy Kids not being available in your country so you can’t help with the crash- you can still support this event in other ways!

The goalpost of this weekend is to crash the app, yes, but the reason why we’re doing this is to show our support of the show- and you can show support in other ways if you still want to join in!

1: Spread the word so that US based fans have a higher chance of seeing this event. Spread it on twitter and tiktok! Make it a whole thing!

2: Ask a US fan to watch for you- whether if they have an extra device or if they can watch it twice for you. I know I’m going to set the eps up to watch multiple times.

3: Make shitposts! Let’s make it a whole bit: like this

(it doesn’t have to be just shitposts about crashing the app, have fun with it!)

4: Reblog/retweet your old art and posts! Queue/schedule them up if you’re not available on the weekend. Get the tag trending to no.1!

5: Message anyone who you know is on the LMK team. Send them your love and support! VA’s, storyboard artists, layout artists, writers, etc

If anyone has a list of the LMK team’s social medias or wants to make a list that would really help.

These are some ways I could think of off the top of my head, but people are free to add more :D

oh boi have i some news for lmk fans who dont live in us

you actually CAN watch in happykids lmk legally!

first option - just use vpn! it will still be considered as a legal way to watch i use app for mobile and watch lmk in here with vpn ☺️

second option - you can watch in browser without vpn!

"is it legally?" pretty much!

so yeah!! everyone can support lmk in happykids dont worry guys!!!

>:0 dude that’s a fantastic source! Thank you!
