whenever coomer's ex-wife is mentioned, I imagine her as the old smoking radio lady from that Disney Atlantis movie, but mixed with deep rock's mission control, hud hexagon, green tint and everything. the ultimate comms only companion
Throw in a bit of Ursula from "The Little Mermaid" and that's more or less how I imagined her, too.
BTW, you didn't ask for this, but my headcanon is that Coomer and his ex-wife are still friends & that they both just like making jokes about their divorce.
The Diaries characters would hate their My Street counterparts, and I say that with my chest!!
garroth would dislike his mystreet counterpart but he would be so jealous
he wants to be close to zane like him
he wants to be able to let his guard down and just have fun
he wants to have his life. one where he isn't always scared about something going horribly wrong
yes ellie must drive joel crazy when they’re traveling with the stupid jokes and all the questions and stuff but consider this: joel definitely drives ellie out of her damn mind I guarantee u this man points at random shit and he’s like “I worked on a house just like that” or “they did so and so to this building for this reason” and other dumb construction shit.
Laurance has nightmares.
Laurance has nightmares about his father's death, Sasha's death, and the Nether.
The Nether is what effects Laurance the most. Being tortured into submission left scars on Laurance's body and mind. Sometimes he'll wake up with nothing more than a sharp gasp, sometimes he wakes up screaming, unable to tell if he's safe or not. It's usually the second.
Garroth is always there.
It started because they were traveling together. It stuck because Laurance trusted him. He trusted Garroth with knowledge that even Cadenza didn't know about.
Dante was often thrown off by how close the two were, being a bit of a heavy sleeper, until one night. A sharp scream woke both him and Garroth. Garroth was hardly phased, simply running to Laurance's aid. Dante, however, was shaken.
All the time Dante knew them, he saw them as wiser, stronger men that never needed help. Yet, there was Laurance, helplessly sobbing into Garroth's chest as the head guard rocked him back and forth.
Dante, not knowing what to do, sat behind Laurance and rubbed his back. This is what taught Dante that it was okay to cry, that it was okay to break down, that it was okay to not be okay.
First post about aphmau on this account so be nice to me. However I'm rewatching Diaries for like the millionth time and I am having many thoughts about Shadow Knights (Laurance specifically)
I think Shadow Knights have like. Boiling hot blood. So they naturally run very warm on the outside. But also- no heartbeat. They're dead, after all, why would they need a heartbeat?
After a while, Laurance gets used to it. He no longer hears the sound of blood rushing in his ears, because there's nothing to cause that noise. He doesn't hear his heart beating out of his chest when he's afraid. It's not something he needs. He's over it.
That is, until one night where he and Garroth were on patrol. Garroth had let him take a little nap, saying he looked "exhausted". In truth, he has been avoiding sleeping. All he sees in his sleep is the memories of being beaten and bloody in the Nether, anyway.
This time is no different. It has to have been merely thirty minutes before he's startled awake, the sound of the fire next to him sending him into a panic.
It's not new- Garroth had been there to help before. He quickly makes his way over from his watch, bringing him close and letting him break down. Laurance hates these moments, where he feels vulnerable and weak, but not with Garroth. He's always gentle and kind, and he never says a word after. It's nice.
This time, though, Laurance hears something. He's brought close enough to just barely hear it from his position, so he turns his head to lay it flat on Garroth's chest to pinpoint what exactly it is. Slowly, he counts the beats- it's a little fast at first, but it calms down with Laurance. He realizes it's been so long since he's heard a heartbeat that he nearly forgot what one sounded like.
It's grounding. The next time he wakes from a nightmare, he listens to it again. He misses when his own heart pumped that loud, but Garroth is a good substitute.

i love minecraft waiting behaviors. Writing on a sign and you can vaguely see your friend hopping around making spontaneous parkour out of the terrain while they wait for you to finish. writing a message in chat and having the person you’re talking to crouch right in front of you or stand as close to you as possible while they wait for you to finish. Finally finishing writing in a book only to see your friend has made several new furniture pieces and/or surrounded you in a cobblestone cube that may or may not have a sign on it. theres something so charming to it
Hold on, Sidlink shippers, you might not be completely buried yet.
Turns out that Sidon looked up to Yona as a big sister and, while his feelings for her grew more difficult to quantify as time passed, the marriage was indeed arranged.
What do the Zonai, the Kokiri, the Twili, the Oocca (Sky People) and the Wind Tribe all have in common? Perhaps more than you might think.
