Oh my god

OH MY GOD

I am dead!! I can’t believe I forgot about this and I’m crying these are so beautiful and I just adore the photo shoot and everything about this 🥺 your love for Maggie’s story just melts my heart xx

PS: LOVE the Alice cosplay!

you people will just. say anything

okay but do you understand that liz wallace made the bechdel-WALLACE test because she was a dyke who wanted to go to movies and pretend the characters were dykes and her friend alison bechdel happened to put her silly little litmus assessment into a comic strip and then the rest of everyone else decided it was a bona fide way of means testing media for Feminist Content? do you know that? it doesn’t sound like you know that

some of you are the dumbest motherfuckers alive

i am going to explain the bechdel test for people such as those in the tags

here is the original comic strip:

what the bechdel-wallace test is not:

  • an academic analysis of media
  • a bar that determines whether or not a movie is “bad” or “good” (by which i mean if a movie doesn’t pass the bechdel-wallace test that doesn’t make it bad, and if a movie passes the test the movie is not automatically good)
  • supposed to be taken seriously

what the bechdel-wallace test is:

  • a personal litmus test created by a lesbian who was, presumably, frustrated with the fact that women could not exist in the movie without a relationship to a man

it is not a way to “police what women speak about” because it does not apply to real people. it applies to fictional characters. also, the bechdel-wallace test does not stipulate that there can be no conversation about a male love interest. the women just have to talk about something other than a male love interest.

the reason the male love interest stipulation is there is because like… this test was created by a butch lesbian woman to determine whether or not she wanted to watch a movie. removing that part of the test violates the spirit of the test. it’s silly because it’s not supposed to be serious.

tl;dr stop misinterpreting the bechdel-wallace test you losers. op is right. goodbye

Dangers of working on a set.

That’s what I said.

Okay but you forgot the best part! During the scene where Aragorn, Gandalf and the other Main CharaktersTM ride ahead to go shout at the gate (and talk to the mouth of sauron in the extended edition) they were very firmly told only to ride up  ahead “this far” because that area was cleared and beyond that it wasn’t.

But. Viggo Mortensen is absolutely mad and lead them just…. a bit farther than that. Everyone else was very scared they might blow up any second. Viggo said it “added a little extra tension”.

Chapter Seven: Are You Still Having Nightmares?

"I want that for you. I want you to find people who understand you, who you want to spend time with." Bucky could feel Maggie working hard not to mention Sam.

He sighed. "Well, on that note, Yori set me up on a date."

She laughed, which he really should have expected. "Oh yeah? Similar age bracket, or are you going for the younger ladies still?"

He rolled his eyes. Jealousy had never really been their language. "The waitress at Izzy's. I've made it very clear that I've got a girlfriend, but they didn't believe me, doll, they think I'm fibbing about having a gorgeous rich girlfriend out of town."

She was still laughing. "You could tell them who I am, I don't mind!"

"Then they'd believe me even less!"

Chapter Six: Say Hello Again

"Vision." Maggie dashed over, reaching out to help him up but hesitating when saw that parts of him were missing. He was flaking away, glitching like a staticky television, fragments of Vibranium shedding from his body and floating in the air around him. His eyes were wide and his fingers trembled.

"Vision, oh my god." She finally reached out to his arm and helped him up. He barely acknowledged her, leaning on her for support as he reached out a hand to Wanda.

"Wanda!" he cried, and it sounded like he was underwater. Wanda looked over, her eyes horrified.

On the other side of the square, Tommy and Billy appeared in a blur of speed only to collapse to the ground, flaking and disintegrating just as Vision was.

"Boys!" Vision shouted, crumbling in Maggie's arms. Her hands slipped away as more of him seemed to disintegrate and she cried out, trying to hold him, to keep him together. She dropped to her knees beside him.

"Vision, stay with me," she begged him, feeling pieces of him crumbling in her hands.

Chapter Five: The Lost Soldier

“Bucky, it’s me,” Darcy said, pointing to herself. “Darcy?”

He smiled at her blankly. “Nice to meet you, ma’am.” He took off his service cap in greeting.

Darcy made a disgusted noise, despite the general handsomeness, and turned to Vision. “Vision, you fixed me, can you…?”

“Of course.” Vision stepped forward, making Bucky’s eyes widen, then said: “Pardon me,” and touched the sides of Bucky’s head. With a flicker of yellow energy Bucky cried out, his eyes screwed up, and dropped to his knees.

“Oh dear,” Vision said, looking back at Darcy. “I didn’t mean for it to be painful.”

“He’s got a lot of memory shit going on, I don’t think it’s your fault,” Darcy said sympathetically. She crouched down next to Bucky, careful not to touch him. “Bucky? You in there?”

Chapter Four: Do You Remember?

"Maximoff was never gonna negotiate with us," Hayward said, circling his operations table. "We take her out, this whole nightmare ends."

"We don't know that!" Monica challenged. "We actually have no idea what will happen in there or out here if Wanda dies."

"Who's Wanda?" Barnes asked Wilson. Darcy turned just in time to see WIlson give Barnes a clueless look.

"You really don't know?" Darcy questioned, disturbed. They looked to her, and their faces were truly blank. She wanted to ask more questions, but Hayward's voice had risen.

Chapter Three: Room 4, Clear Views

Hayward turned to address his agents again. “And we don’t know yet how Margaret Stark is involved. She may be an accomplice in this, or another victim. What’s the progress on that?”

Rodriguez, his number two, spoke up. “We’re trying to get in contact with someone, but the Avengers dissolved after the Blip, her brother’s dead, and no one can reach any Avengers.”

Darcy, who’d kept her mouth shut so far, frowned.

Chapter Two: Your Neighbours Across The Road

Vision jumped out of the car in his neat suit, whipping off his hat. "Why are you broken!" he demanded of the car, eyes wide behind his glasses. "My engine never breaks!" The audience chuckled again.

At that, a person dashed across the street toward the car, dress bouncing as she waved toward Vision, whose back was turned as he leaned over his car.

"Oh, here's another character," Darcy said, leaning forward.

The shot changed to a close-up of the woman; she wore a knee-length frock with large lapels and double breasted buttons down the chest. She ran across the street in nice heels, her hair done up in victory rolls. She was gesturing with a comically large wrench.

“Say there!" the woman cried. "It's your alternator!"

"Whoah," Darcy breathed, reaching out to pause the screen. She sat back. "Is that?" She leaned closer. "Uh, Agent Woo?"

He turned around from pouring his coffee, and his eyes widened.

"It's her, right?" Darcy asked.

I’m back again, and I’m going to post the chapters here too for funsies! Here’s a snippet and the link.

Chapter One: There Is No Westview

~

"Did you know about Vision."

Maggie blinked at Wanda's low, sharp tone. She sat up fully. "What? What about Vision?"

Bucky cracked an eye open.

"Did. You. Know." Her tone of voice was nothing Maggie had ever heard before; anger, yes, but she mostly sounded… tired.

Maggie frowned. "Wanda, I don't… did you visit his grave?"

Wanda laughed, and it was a broken sound. "Maggie, he trusted you, he - he told me that you were kind. So I will assume you didn't know. He's not there."

"Not where?"

"They dug him up," she said, and it sounded slightly manic. "They dug him up and ripped him apart and - and-" there was a brief pause, as Maggie found herself unable to focus on anything. "It doesn't matter. Never mind."

"Wanda-" but her phone let out two low beeps, signalling that the call had been ended. Maggie pulled it from her ear and stared at the black screen.
