update: happy new year! my bird man considered rejoining tumblr, which made me consider it too. i’m not sure how often i will use this account, but i do plan to create a blog for some longform writing i want to do this year.
i am christian now, and my gf moved in with me this week. i’ve just spent new years with my gf and my bird man, watching movies while they make me tea.

I came across Palestinian artist Souad Nasr سعاد نصر today and this painting of her’s immediately reminded of that famous photo of the old Palestinian haja holding onto her olive tree. Souad Nasr painted this more than 30 years ago.
