y'know, we often see a whole lot of posts and imagines that make these skellies seem almost perfect. I'm not exactly complaining, but wouldn't it be fun to see some character flaws as well? after all, no one is perfect. so, for the main six (or just whoever you want) let's see some character flaws! whatever flaws you want, from gross habits to people skills or whatever! sorry if this is kinda weird, I just feel more comfortable knowing that even some of our favs have flaws!

*Well, I was about to work on the chapter, but this ask spoke to me.  You’re absolutely right; so many of these imagines are meant to be comforting/reassuring that the skelebaes do seem a little too perfect.  I went with eight, so I could include the SF bros because I have their flaws the most fleshed out since my take on them has a specific backstory.  

So let’s get to some flaws!

UT!Sans:Not easily motivated; you can’t expect a big date or gesture from him that isn’t something he can just order online.  He can’t cook, and he’s messy and unlikely to clean up after himself.  He’s also a huge prankster, and he deflects with humor, so it can be difficult to get a read on his actual feelings.  He’s prone to ghosting you for a couple of days because sometimes, responding to texts/messages is just too much.

UT!Papyrus:He takes things the wrong way or jumps to his own conclusions and runs with it.  You might end up going along with him, Undyne, and Alphys when you wanted to just hang out with him.  Your kitchen is likely to be set on fire until he actually takes lessons or watches a few YouTube tutorials.  He amends his opinions to align with his friends at times, so it’s likely that he might do the same toward you or you might catch him contradicting himself.

UF!Sans:Red will take his brother’s side over yours 95% of the time.  He stammers when he’s nervous and sweats quite a bit.  He can be conceited and cocky and enjoys quite a bit of dirty humor, which may or may not be your thing and will certainly be inappropriate when you first meet him.  He’s quick to nope out of a situation if it adds too much to his already-full plate, and out of all the skeletons I write for, he’s the one that’s the most prone to cheat or break up with a person.  

I know, I know; I’ve gotten a lot of furious comments about that, but honestly, I probably like Red the most because I keep writing that flaw.  He’s depressed in his timeline, not thinking that any sort of happiness is within his reach. It makes him selfish at times. He can make mistakes because of it, ones he may end up regretting or ones that may hurt someone.  He learns from those mistakes, and they color his choices later on, and I think that makes him the most relateable for me.  

UF!Papyrus:Edge is conceited, believes most to be beneath him, and has a tendency to order others around and talk down to them.  There’s a power dynamic to be had with someone weak, but he also tends to like the challenge of someone standing toe-to-toe with him without backing down.  While his actions are calculated for the most part, he’s quick to jump to threats or violence, and has a definite prejudice against humans that takes some time on the Surface to break.  He also doesn’t want to admit when he was wrong, instead placing the blame elsewhere.

US!Sans:Blueberry is the type to get swept up in the moment – and assume you’re friends when you’ve barely spoken.  He’s lonely, even though he hides it beneath a huge, positive attitude.  Like Papyrus, he jumps to conclusions and may invite himself along without gaining your approval.  He can be clingy and pushy, but hates when he’s treated like a child due to his demeanor and appearance.  He can also be a bit manipulative to try to get his way.  

US!Papyrus:Stretch is perceptive enough to think he has it all figured out, which may lead to him jumping to the wrong conclusions as well.  He’s a bit more protective of his brother than Sans is of Papyrus, so he tends to meddle there and be quick to Judge you right away.  He smokes, so his clothes constantly smell like cigarettes, and he isn’t above cheating at games.  He’s lazy, and most of his texts are one-word (or one letter like k) replies or memes at 3 in the morning.  

SF!Sans:He’s got most of the flaws of Edge, but an even louder ego.  He’s not above treating his brother like his personal attack dog or even having Mutt ‘fetch’ you so Blackberry can talk to you, instead of going to you himself.  All of his food is outrageously spicy and he staunchly refuses to change his cooking, no matter what anyone tells him.  He’s bolstered by his brother, who tells him that everything he does is great, and doesn’t realize that the few dates he’s been on prior to coming to the Surface were monsters that were threatened by Mutt.  He doesn’t consider the feelings of others before he acts.He also happens to be scared of ghosts. 

SF!Papyrus:Mutt doesn’t care much beyond what his brother wants because he’s still repenting for a mistake he made years ago that nearly cost Black his life.  Back then, he was selfish and caught up in his own depression.  Now, he’s devoted and obedient, and doesn’t care about your personal boundaries, so you can expect him to frequently shortcut into your home or room.  He smokes whenever Black isn’t around, and keeps his guard up when it comes to his own feelings, often deflecting by teasing you or pushing you toward his brother.  He cares about Black’s happiness more than his own, leading him to be apathetic about everything else under most circumstances.
