@elyk24-blog1

Okay. Cool. Yep. This totally isn’t dumb.

So today I logged onto my computer, already in a bad mood. You see, I’m currently dealing with a bad lung infection, which in and of itself is a fairly nasty ordeal. I switch on Discord, only to find my inbox blown up, and a few dozen of my friends, whom are all artists, panicking over the news that Tumblr is banning sexual content.

I’m not really mad that Tumblr is trying to save their ass and get Daddy Apple to put them back on the app store. What got ME mad, was the fact that tumblr just put THOUSANDS of artists at financial risk. I myself am not a NSFW artist by nature, and I’ve already deleted my NSFW blog at the time of posting this. Artists who used Tumblr EXCLUSIVELY are now at risk of losing their follower base. Without their fans and patrons, and a means to reliably contact them, artists will struggle to advertise commissions and Patrons. They lack a medium to post their work on, as they promise their supporters they will, and they have no way to inform their followers where to find them, without losing YEARS of progress building up their fan base.

What Tumblr is doing is just not okay. Child porn and sex bots could have been solved using a proper filtering system and a team to review posts. They opted NOT to do that.

I’m not surprised that Tumblr is getting flack for this. Personally, I don’t condone it. So, I’m moving.

Yes. I’m moving.

From here on out, I will be posting my illustrations, my sketches, and even my doodles, on Twitter, and Newgrounds. I will still post finished illustrations on Tumblr, but don’t expect me to do so often.

I will not support a site that so blatantly rids artists of their income and wipes their fanbase, simply because they cater to an adult audience.

Want to support me and my work? Follow me on the social links below, and reblog this post to let Tumblr know this doesn’t freaking bode.

TWITTER ACCOUNT - (Most Active)

NEWGROUNDS - (We’ll see how this goes)

FURRAFFINITY - (Less active)

I’d like to give a quick shout-out to @nsfwnox, @nsfwglacierclear, @kanelfa, @schmuccubus, @spearfrost, and @talsart.

They are all lovely artists who I’m sure you would LOVE. So go give them some love, and follow them on their Twitter and other accounts.

That’s all guys, have a good one!

Helping out (I guess?)

Tumblr Is Wrong!

For many years I’ve enjoyed Tumblr; its combination of creative individuals, communities, sub-cultures, and fan blogs have always been the draw, and the freedom of expression they enjoyed a source for inspiration, support, and shared experience. The content, regardless of adult nudity or adult themes (NSFW content), has never been inappropriate; the viewing of such content may be inappropriate for some but it is the responsibility of the individual or, in the case of a minor, their parents to determine what is and is not appropriate and to take the proper action for their individual circumstances.

The new policy Tumblr plans to fully enact on December 17th is an affront to the very community they have created and the social contract to which we as a society adhere. It punishes creators, minority individuals sharing their culture, and their supporters. It harms those peace-loving, personal-freedom-extolling, socially positive individuals whose work and enthusiasm fuels this site and contributes to, celebrates and criticizes culture. This new policy will certainly negatively impact LGBTQ+ individuals, women (whose bodies are consistently policed online and offline), legal sex workers attempting to grow a brand, and artists whose work is Not Safe For Work—great historically and culturally significant work would be unwelcome here if it were created today. In contrast, this does not punish, ban or purge fascists, white supremacists, misogynists, anti-LGBTQ+ groups or any other socially detrimental individuals from posting hate and toxicity.

@staff - YOU ARE ALIENATING AND PUNISHING THE WRONG PEOPLE.

Sincerely,

Robert Crown

Stan Lee, the legendary writer, editor and publisher of Marvel Comics whose fantabulous but flawed creations made him a real-life superhero to comic book lovers everywhere, has died. He was 95.

Lee, who began in the business in 1939 and created or co-created Black Panther, Spider-Man, the X-Men, the Mighty Thor, Iron Man, the Fantastic Four, the Incredible Hulk, Daredevil and Ant-Man, among countless other characters, died early Monday morning at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, a family representative told The Hollywood Reporter.

Kirk Schenck, an attorney for Lee’s daughter, J.C. Lee, also confirmed his death.

“Now the pain we all feel at this dreadful loss reminds me, and, reminds us, that though we may come from different countries and speak in different tongues, our hearts beat as one.”
