Elly's Place

@ellyrox110

Enter once, shame on you.

In Super Mario 64, a glitch called "remote quicksand interaction" exists in Shifting Sand Land that can cause Mario to die from sinking into quicksand despite not actually touching it, by punching on the edge of a platform above it.

Normally, it is seen in places where the platform is not very far above the quicksand; the typical place where it is encountered is the platform near the outside of the entrance to the pyramid, where the quicksand is only a few feet below the ledge. However, there is a much more obscure place where it is possible for this glitch to occur.

The platform shown in the footage is actually directly above a pit of quicksand in the middle of the pyramid, but at such a height that this cannot be clearly seen during regular gameplay. If the player punches the air in the spot shown in the footage, Mario will instantly die in a way that would be extremely surprising for anyone not familiar with the glitch.

Friendly reminder how this was when the Triforce of Wisdom promised everyone the King would come home safely,

But it fucking lied, so Zelda had to go save him AND Link.

it didn’t fucking lie, the king DID return safely BECAUSE zelda saved him IT WAS RIGHT THE WHOLE TIME media literacy is fucking dead

yk what i hate though. is when i find a meme and im like THIS IS SO [cool intimidating mutual i never talk to] I SHOULD SEND IT TO THEM but then i remember ive never talked to them ever and so i cant just like give them a meme out of the blue and so the meme just withers and rots in my camera roll 😔

Reblog if a mutual who's never spoken to you can randomly send you memes that made them think of you.

listen i know each actor brings their own spice to a role, but i just can’t take timothee chalamet’s wonka seriously

where is the madness behind his eyes??? the malice??? the complete disregard for the laws of mankind and decency???

this man makes me fear that i’ll be shoved into a taffy machine at the slightest provocation

as! he! should!

The arcade version of Mario Bros. has an oversight whereby one of Mario's and Luigi's walking frames gives them differently colored eyes (middle column in the image).

While the difference in the color of Mario's eyes is very subtle, Luigi's eyes change to a bright green color for one frame, which is noticeable if the player knows to look for it. This results in Luigi's eyes flickering from black to green every few frames during gameplay. It is unknown how this was never noticed during testing.

We need to let adults fight without catching an assault charge...like I'm talking about consensual fighting. Not jumping folks, hiding no weapons none of that. Just going at it in the parking lot

Asteroid City does not exist. It is an imaginary drama created expressly for this broadcast. The characters are fictional, the text hypothetical, the events an apocryphal fabrication. But together they present an authentic account of the inner workings of a modern theatrical production.

im really stoned and sleep deprived and im thinking about some of the “about” pages ive seen from young tumblr users and im like. who tf is out here telling 14 year old kids that they gotta put shit like a detailed description of all of their potential social privileges next to a summary of their medical history on public display. Who told them to do that. i don’t wanna see these poor kids pinning detailed lists of their traumas next to words like “thin passing” to the top of their blogs so that every unknown passing stranger can immediately see it. kids whoever is telling u that is wrong ok. im in my mid 20s and I don’t even put my real name on most things online. ur allowed to just be on here and have fun. also don’t blindly trust strangers ok. pls be safe. go look at cat memes

In the code of Super Mario 64, an unused blizzard environmental effect, named "Blizzerd" [sic] internally, can be found. It creates a large amount of snowflakes flying very quickly at an angle, as though in a strong wind.

As the game contains two snow courses: Cool, Cool Mountain and Snowman's Land, it is possible that one of them was intended to have the normal calm snow falling effect and the other to have this. Particularly, since Snowman's Land also contains several points with strong sideways winds, it appears that the effect could have been used there to differentiate it more from Cool, Cool Mountain.
