I'm Weird and Sensitive

After watching the Barbie trailer, my parents are arguing over whether, as a previous diplomat, Barbie should have diplomatic immunity in a foreign country (her home country being Barbieland) and thus whether her arrest by LAPD is unlawful.

Neither of my parents are lawyers or have studied international relations, they just got excited by the trailer

the ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ has only been actually typed once by a single person, everyone else who has ever used it has just googled “shrug emoji” and copy-pasted it

May I introduce you to my FAVORITE SITE EVER

(I do have the app bc I use it THAT often)

if you’re on a windows pc you can press the windows key and period button together and it pops up with a bunch of emojis and kaomoji you can just select

On my cell phone I use the text replacement feature so that I can just type out “&shrug” and it’ll automatically insert it. I only had to copy and paste it once. Also I added the & at the beginning cause turns out I typed out the word shrug fairly often lol

Dave Brandt was so much more than a meme. He partnered with universities to experiment with and expand soil conservation and cover crop techniques, worked to educate other farmers through worldwide conventions and direct mentorship, founded the Soil Health Academy, and was called the "Obi-Wan Kenobi of soil health" by the chief of the USDA's conservation department.

There is no healthy planet without healthy ag practices, and this guy was a legend.

*LONG helpful POST WARNING*

So I went down an Esty Chronic illness rabbit hole the other day when I came across the post about chronic illness journals and templates (I think I shared it.)

AND I FOUND THESE GEMS!!

These are *some* of the Etsy people who actually make button pins and custom enamel pins you can buy to pin on your tops/jackets/backpacks/etc!

Idk how many times I've desperately needed a chair or felt faint while out in public and thought 'damn I wish I could tell people I need to get myself to a safer place or position to avoid fainting'

These buttons are perfect for those who aren't social, often go nonverbal, or even tired from explaining over and over again certain symptoms that can be potentially dangerous.

I bought some buttons (none of these ones unfortunately) but these are some of the ones I plan on buying when I get paid.

I love these so much and I'm really hoping they help not only bring awareness to invisible illnesses but also give room for people to have a little more grace when I ask for accommodations. I hope these might help others as well!

^^^ these are the ones that I purchased so far and I absolutely love them. They are on the smaller size which is why I tagged a few other artists that have buttons on a bigger scale. And also why I plan on ordering the custom Enamel pins to be a big and more durable. But all of them are just beautiful.😍🤩😍

What if there was an apocalypse but some people were really really in denial and optimistic and thinking everything will be back to normal soon?

Like they’d be foraging through the ruins of New York for supplies, shooting raiders in the face and saying “Man, this recession is really bad, huh?”

Umm….

ARE YOU KIDDING ME

this post, plus that satire one about the increasingly ridiculous callout culture that slowly became more and more accurate

this one

was anything going on in 2017??? did everyone randomly have prophetic visions????????

Another one from 2017 by @nullsynth

the words of the prophets are written on the subway walls

turns out we had the 2020 vision after all

“the words of the prophets are written on the subway walls” is actually a really fucking metal quote and i will be using it in the future

@handoverthehands it’s from Sound of Silence by Simon and Garfunkel. Referenced as well in Spirit of the Radio by Rush and again in Disturbed’s cover of the original.

And that in itself was a reference to the Book of Daniel from the bible, when the words of the prophet were written on the Babylonian palace walls.

In the real world, it’s not the kings and people in power who see the signs of doom, but the poor people in the subway, helpless to stop it.

Nothing. This is normal for tumblr

shout out to people who's family isnt entirely bad or entirely good, but something in between and you dont know how to feel about them. you feel angry but you also feel guilty, because you know they genuinely love and care about you, but sometimes they show it in a way you know its not okay. your feelings are valid, your anger and sadness and grief are valid, and you dont have to prove this to no one. bigger shout out to those with memory issues who know something isnt right but can't recall all of the bad events, only the feelings, which only increases the guilt.

reblog this if you think the toggle for tumblr live should be permanent instead of a 7-day snooze

trying to prove something to @staff

User hostile UI design is why I left Instagram for tumblr, don’t let the UI become awful here too

There is no reason "don't show me this thing" should be temporary, for any aspect of the UI.

  • When I set my dash to pages instead of infinite scroll, I don't have to reset it every week.
  • When I set my dash to not show "recommended posts," I don't have to reset that.
  • When I pick a color theme, it doesn't revert to the default setting once a week.

Tumblr Live should be no different. People who don't want it, should not have to keep saying so.

AND when the toggle switch says "snooze," it should be OFF. You shouldn't have to turn it ON and then BACK OFF to snooze it.
