More examples of the WORST mansplaining here.

This might be my favorite

This is mine

i was writing an essay for college on the great gatsby and my uncle came into the room and asked about it. i told him and he proceeded to explain the whole plot and meaning of the novel. when i pointed out that he had got several points wrong and put forward my own arguments, he admitted he hadn’t read the book, but countered my argument (poorly) again. i reasserted mine and noticed he had begun to blank me. i then asked “are you even listening” to which he answered “no, i’m bored”.

In UI/UX design, menus have different names depending on the aspect they have, I knew about the hamburger menu and so I figured the “meatballs menu” could exist too, and it does…

Yeah this one’s true.

i hate the trope were a woman/girl confronts a dude who wronged her/someone she cares about and is about to kill him but then like collapses and drops her weapon and is like “I…. can’t do it. I’m not a killer.” like girl ffs just hand me the knife and we’ll get this over with

i saw a post today where someone stated that they often can't tell real information from misinformation online. i am not here to make fun of that person. that being said, the ability to figure out if information is real or not is a critical skill for everyone who uses the internet. you need to be able to do that on your own. it's great if you can get help or if people will tell you what's real and what's not, but you also need to be able to do it by yourself. simple, easy tips under the cut.

what queerbaiting is:

setting up, advertising, or alluding to queer relationships in media with no intention of actually depicting that relationship in order to capitalize off of queer viewers without scaring away general audiences.

what queerbaiting is not:

  • popular fandom ships not becoming canon
  • ambiguous or unconventional queer stories
  • real people experimenting with their gender or sexuality
  • and anything else that doesn't fit the definition above

Additionally, because I have seen Western fans accuse some Chinese dramas of being queer baity: SOME COUNTRIES HAVE ANTIGAY CENSORSHIP LAWS YOU NUGGETS
