I recently participated in the L’Oiseau Artist Residency, an artist residency that took place completely in Animal Crossing New Horizons! This is the video I created for my piece “I Only Want What I Can’t Have” .
Animal Crossing allows us to have access to things we may not imagine having in our wildest dreams. A castle? You got it! A giant robot statue? Of course! Anything you could think of to own, there is probably an item in Animal Crossing for it. Having played previous and current installments, I started to notice with Animal Crossing’s newest installment “New Horizons”, I would gravitate towards the more mundane items the game had to offer. With the cost of living rising and the strain on our supply chains exacerbating, things like toasters, laptops and plants seemed like necessities to decorate my virtual house. These items have no value outside of their virtual currency and aesthetics, but the barrier to obtain these items is so low. Even the cost of your virtual house is minimal compared to real-world cost. It is so easy and freeing to create the life you aspire to live, even if it’s just living comfortably with the things that make life livable.

I did the animation for the werewolf in the dancing scenes, as well as her howling, and the mummy and snake in the vanity scene (not included in gif form haha). I also did the voice acting for the werewolf!

Aw I’m so sorry! It makes me really happy you would like to watch it! Sadly the only place the video was shared was on the Hallmark eCards website and it seems the links on the original post broke since I shared it.
If you search for Halloween, you should be able to find it (granted it’s a few rows down). It’s titled “Halloween is Ladies Night!”
I’m sad to say that Hallmark shut down the eCards website so Ladies Night was inevitably lost to time, safe for some gifs on giphy 🥲 maybe I’ll post it here some day if I find a good version of it .

Last December, the FCC voted to to kill net neutrality. If we do not take action, this will kill the free and open internet as we know it. The internet needs you—all of you—to make sure your voices are heard NOW.
We need all hands on deck for this one. It may be our last chance. If you’re feeling under-informed and overwhelmed about why net neutrality is so incredibly important, we have this handy guide just for you.
Here’s what you can do to save the internet:
- In mid-May, the Senate will vote on a resolution to overrule the FCC using the Congressional Review Act (CRA). We only need one more vote in the Senate to win. Write or call your Senators or Representatives. You can also text BATTLE to 384-387 to get more information on how to write to your reps. You can do this, Tumblr.
- Join us and dozens of your other favorite companies like Etsy, Vimeo, Reddit, and GitHub to raise awareness with the Red Alert campaign being run by Battle for the Net. Just add this small widget to your Tumblr to let your followers know how they can contact their reps. It’s as easy as copying and pasting the small line of code right into the customize theme page on the web.
This is important. This matters. It’s up to you to help.

I did this piece of my DnD character, Ka’Kaw, who I play in the campaign we have at Hallmark Labs. She’s a sweet little birdy rogue who steals cup and is Mayor of a town! I did this piece for an alumni art show at CSUCI :)
