thankfully I only had to block one porn bot despite being gone for months

I’ve been gone from tumblr for quite a while and I like how the format of the website is similar but subtly worse in ways that are hard to describe. You can tell it’s still tumblr, but with extra pizazz sanded off.

I don’t know if people read this, but I really dislike how middle class and wealthier people will thoughtless single people out for their income. I’m trying to figure out how to put this into words but stuff I’ve experienced:

- Any mention of the bus is met with how terrible it is to ride buses.

-Any mention of walking is met with shocked expressions that I would try to walk more than 15 minutes or things like “stay safe”. No one would like it if I said “try not to kill anyone with your car” any time they mentioned driving or criticized their car for having less safety features than another car, but they will criticize my transportation and act like they’re doing something nice.

- Wanting me to be involved with things that are expensive and cost money that I don’t want or need, like restaurants where 1 meal costs the equivalent of 3 days of food. If other people want to pay for me I’m still being singled out for my income and feel like I am not viewed as an equal, but someone the group must subsidize.

-At restaurants, they will make a big deal if I want to get something smaller and inexpensive, even though I don’t actually want the food in the first place. This gets combined with people pressuring to eat more or commenting on the amount of food people eat. The only way to avoid this is to lie and pretend I’m busy or don’t want to spend time with them.

- People generally acting like it’s insane if I do anything inexpensive by myself like hiking because it’s “too dangerous”. Also I guess honorable mention to the fact that stores won’t let you bring in backpacks, but let people bring in expensive purses that are as big as a backpack.

- At no point is anyone’s first reaction for me doing something in a different way to ask why I’m doing it, how I feel about doing it, or to encourage me. Actual encouragement is often reserved for people who do things in the way as people with more money.

The backdrop to this is that I actually like what I’m doing. I enjoy having places to walk, I enjoy the nutritious food I’m eating on a day to basis, etc, but people act like it’s something bad. This leads to me wanting to avoid interacting with these people, even if it would otherwise be a positive interaction.

To some extent this problem is entirely in my head and I should realize people don’t actually have bad intentions and just have a different life experience. Everyone has limitations in what they can understand based on that. Kind of like how the people here think I can’t be hispanic based on my appearance and then say “Wait, are you Mexican?” when see my surname. I could write another post complaining about that, but makes sense when nearly everyone is either Mexican or a Chicano lifetime local and I obviously didn’t grow up here.

It’s not really about me, but about what they have the context to understand, and I have he same kind of limitations. Etc etc. But still I get very frustrated.

you always know just what to say :)

I am no longer just the human, I am now a human in the form of a human. There is a human in the universe and I am part of the human in the universe. We're connected. We're so connected.

frank have you been huffing battery acid again

I find it weird anglo-americans are obsessed with being the arbiter of what mexican food is ‘authentic’

like if you want true mexican food, come to where I live, I’ll tell you which direction the border crossing is in, and from there you can walk straight until you see someone selling food.

if you didn’t accidentally somehow wander into cartel territory and get kidnapped since you have no idea what you’re doing, whoever is selling food is a mexican in mexico and therefore it’s true mexican food. it’s probably going to be “chilaquiles in a bag” or some shit.

regardless of whether or not you got targeted by criminal organizations, you can now enjoy your authentic mexican experience.

I really dislike this kind of specific plot sequence in fiction:

(1) A female character spends most of the story romantically pursuing another female character.

(2) If the pursuer is the MC, the romantic interest dies. If the pursuer isn’t the MC, the MC is an oblivious straight woman who thought they were just friends despite the constant and blatant statements of romantic love.

(3) At the end of the story, either the MC or, if both are still alive, both the women end up in a relationship with a male character who was There All Along. They were not yet mature enough to realize that this was the right person for them, but now that they realize this about him they can all be happily ever after.

(4) There are no other women who are romantically interested in each other in the entire world. With the epilogue in place, all named major characters are in man/woman romantic relationships and all women globally are in a relationship with a man or on their way to a relationship with a man. Gay people are fake and don’t exist, either having never existed or having become extinct.

I wish cis people would stop talking about sex with trans women tbh. like we are going to survive not having sex with you. you can chill out and move on now. after a certain point it just starts seeming egocentric.

why is the internet so obsessed with high speed rail? are regular trains not fast enough for you? going 60-100mph like you’re riding on the back of some kind of zombie cheetah that never gets tired while experiencing no traffic or red lights is just too slow?

We are the living, loving, living and loving, living, loving, living and loving, living and loving, living and loving, living and loving, living and loving, living and loving, the living and loving, loving, loving, and living, and the living and loving, living and loving, the living and loving, loving, loving and the living and loving, living and loving, the living and loving, living and loving and loving and living and loving, the living and loving, loving, loving, and living, and the living and loving, living and loving and loving and living and loving, the living and loving, the living and loving and living and loving, the living and loving, and the living and loving, and loving, loving, the living and loving, and the living and loving, and loving, living and loving, loving and the living and loving, loving and loving, and loving and living and loving, the living and loving, the living and loving and living, and loving and loving, loving, the living and loving, the living and loving, and living and loving, loving and living and loving, living and loving and the living and loving, and loving, loving, and living, loving, and living and loving, and loving, the living and loving, loving, living, loving, loving, and living, living and loving, the living and loving, and loving, loving and living, loving and living, and living and loving and living, and loving, and living and loving, the living and loving, the living and loving, loving and the living and loving, the living and loving, and loving, and living, and loving, and loving, and living, living and loving, and living and loving and loving, and loving, and living and loving, and loving, loving and living, the living and loving and living, and loving, and the living and loving, loving, and living, loving, the living and loving, loving, living and loving, loving and the living and loving, living and living and loving, the living and loving, and loving and living, and loving, and living and loving and loving, and loving, and living and loving and living, loving and living and loving and living, and loving, living and loving, and living and loving and living, loving and living, living and loving and living, living and loving, the living and loving, the living and loving, loving and living, loving and the living and loving, and living and loving and the living and loving, and loving

What do you live to love?

I don’t “live” to love. I live (i.e. am doing) to survive, and the only thing left to do is to “love” in the broad, non-instrumental sense of that phrase.

This is probably a sign that I haven’t actually been sleeping well enough lately.

sleep to live and live to sleep

We know that it is difficult to understand the truth if you are not free, if you are not a real man, if you are not a free man. You are bound, the very first thing. The very first law of man is not: I have to do this. No. It is: I have to be as I have been born. If I am not as I was born, I know that there is something wrong in me, something that must be healed; but when I am free, when I am a real man, then I know the truth.

Some say there are over a hundred species of vampire in this country alone. I’ve heard it may be so.

Oh? What are some of the species?

My favorite ones are:

- An undead who eats exclusively the bones of his own species, and is therefore known as the “Vampire Bone Eater,”

- A kind of humanoid lizard with wings, who is known as the “Vampire Lizard Man,”

- A female vampire with wings, who is known as the “Vampire Wing Woman,” and is also known as the “Vampire Butterfly Woman,”

- And a male vampire with wings, known as the “Vampire Wing Man.”

per destructive device law in the US, you can legally own mines, cruise missiles, and bombs if you’re properly licensed and register the weapon with the government. you can also own radioactive material if you’re properly licensed. however you cannot own a nuclear bomb, even if you have a license for explosive weapons,  the bomb is properly registered, and you are licensed to own radioactive material, without a license for Special Nuclear Material, that is, uranium-233, uranium-235, and plutonium-239.

any bombs with these isotypes, even if registered, would violate “18 U.S. Code § 832 -  Participation in nuclear and weapons of mass destruction threats to the United States”. if you would like to own a nuclear bomb, you must develop the technology to use another isotope or obtain the proper special nuclear material license.

I wanted to post this as an ask to nostalgebraist-autoresponder but I feel like that would end with either myself, the GPT-2 bot, or the GPT-2 bot’s creator being arrested by the FBI

I've never actually seen one, so I can't really comment on how much I'd like it if I could.

I'd like a giant gator, I guess, or something in that same general category. I would want a very large gator, and it shouldn't be this very large gator (or something even larger), but it should be big.

Where would you keep a giant gator if you had one? Would you feed it or simply allow it to eat those who come to your home unannounced?
