can they feel pain? online social/avatar game analysis

1. club penguins = no

-just a solid colored gelatin-like rubbery substance all the way through. no bones no organs

-move with air and fluid currents in lava-lamp like suspensions, with assistance from phenomenon similar to brownian motion. debatable whether truly alive similar to viruses

2. habbo hotels = yes

-digital colonial organisms comprised of billions of nanobots much like an inorganic version of siphonophorae

-have formed a pseudo-society resembling the humans that abandoned them but tend to assume the most efficient shapes when they choose to form into something. thus the isometric/blocky style

-unfortunately because of their sub-microbial base desire to increase their own mass most of their culture revolves around the acquiring and gaining of that mass above all else, resulting in a perpetual pain cycle both physical and psychological

3. toontown toons = yes

-do not feel physical pain but emotional pain is enough to kill them. this is literally canonical

4. gaiaonlines = yes (debatably)

-completely dependent on your philosophical alignment, gaiaonlines exist as hypothetical concepts and could feel pain proportional to what is possible through imposition of belief

-very similar to ‘not believing in fairies kills/harms fairies’ rules

5. webkinz = no

-they like to be filled with milk and slapped on   the wall

6. animal jams = no

-however they attempt deep engagement thought experiments via rp that brings them close to a conception of pain, never fully reaching the true experience

7. neopets = constantly

-can experience no other sensations

-no further elaboration necessary
