There are so many eating disorders that exist and it’s not just Anorexia! With that being said, if you are suffering with an ED but aren’t underweight or overweight or look like the stereotype that people have created💆🏻‍♀️ your ED is still valid!

I love you and hope you get the help you need! Stay safe🦋💕

This is my best friend. At the moment she’s being kept alive by tubes and needles because her eating disorder is currently stronger than she is.

Does she weigh 90lbs? No, she doesn’t. Does it look like her eating disorder is “less severe” because she’s not “that thin”? Do you think her situation sounds “less severe” because she’s not “that thin”?

Tubes and needles. Constant supervision. Pain, anger, agony. Hunger, thirst, suffering. Dizziness, constipation, freezing cold. Passing out in front of other patients and staff. Painful injections of vitamins and whatnot. Nurses who’re force feeding her, who’re forcing fluids into her body because her eating disorder is currently stronger than she is.

90lbs or not, without treatment - my best friend will die.

Would you have walked past her on the street and thought she even had an eating disorder at all? Probably not, because people keep believing you can measure or estimate a persons physical and mental health state based on the silhouette of someone’s body.

You can’t.

Never underestimate someone’s eating disorder just because they don’t look “that thin” to you. Being “thin” is just one of MANY symptoms of an eating disorder and it’s far, far from the most important one. Anyone can struggle and if someone you know struggles: don’t assume they’re alright just because they don’t look “that thin”.

Eating disorders come in one size; MISERABLE.

Rules to prevent it from going too far

🌹Don’t lower your goal weight. Ever. Don’t forget that it’s enough.

🥀 When your stomach passes the flat point and starts caving in you’ve gone to far and you need to stop that shit.

🌷If you’re passing out at work you need to eat more.

🌺 If it’s too hard to lift normal things such as milk jug, PlayStation, table chairs, you need more calories.

🌸 Don’t work out every day of the week.

🏵️ When you find yourself saying “fuck this” and eating everything in your house, you’re restricting too hard.

🌻 Always drink lots of water throughout the day whether or not you’re fasting.

🌼 Keep in mind that you may gain and loose the same 3 lbs of water or food weight throughout the week and it’s not fat.

💮 If you really feel the need to eat, eat. And don’t feel bad about it.

Please add more 💐

🌾 If suddenly all you can think about is food: Eat. It’s your body’s way to tell you that it needs food. It’s trying to use as less energy as possible for that in order to keep you alive.

🌱 take care of ur teeth please ! its so expensive to fix them if they can even be fixed.

☀️ you deserve to recover. this is a serious mental illness that i wouldn’t wish on anyone. you deserve nothing but the best and i’ll always support you when you seek recovery. 🌙 it’s okay to ask for help.

don’t get me wrong I am glad there is positivity for people who ate something, anything at all today but I wanna make sure people who had three meals, ignored the call of ana and had a balanced meal, ate their fear foods or a big portion of ‘unhealthy’ foods get positivity too! Choosing to eat at all or choosing to not starve yourself even after a binge earlier in the day over starving or purging, even if it feels like ‘a lot,’ is fucking amazing and I for one am proud of you all!

reminder that lesbian trans women are not predatory and they’re lesbians just like any other lesbian. they’ve been part of our community since forever and we’ve been fighting side by side for a long time, we share a beautiful history of mutual support. lesbians in general are already seen as predatory, so i want to make even more sure every trans woman who’s one of us knows their love is beautiful and they belong. you’re welcome in our spaces and you can count on so many lesbians to fight any transmisogynist that tries to harm you. you’re so important.

At first I though this was a joke

Don’t ignore this Tumblr

Yet they still do even when it’s right in their face.

This reminds me of how a friend of mine was abused by the mother of his child. She was mentally unstable and used to berate him constantly and would smack him in the head all the time. It really pissed me off. Then one night she threw hot coffee in his face and tried to stab him with a screwdriver. The cops hauled him off to jail because she made up a sob story that painted herself as the victim.  Once he left her, he stayed with me and it was a nightmare. She stalked him and me. She would drive by my house obsessively at all hours of the day and night (her muffler made a weird sound so I know it was her). She started showing up at my job, showing up at the places I frequented around town, and filling up my voicemail with dead air. The cops were no help. One day she got bold enough to talk her way into my home by conning my elderly grandmother, whom I was taking care of, while I was out. She went in my room and went through my stuff (creepy), then found him napping on the couch and attacked him. My grandmother witnessed the whole thing. He grabbed her by the arms, forced her out the front door, and locked it. The cops were called again. They said they’d go and ‘talk’ to her.

The next day we were watching a movie and there was a knock at the door. The police had come to arrest him. She filed a complaint against him and shown off some bruises on her arms from the altercation that she swore were completely unprovoked. My grandmother saw the whole thing since she was in the living room too and testified on his behalf. He still ended up serving jail time. No one takes male domestic violence victims seriously. They only see males as perpetrators.

This is important. Just… everyone needs to see this.

Just as a fun fact,

If you don’t believe male victims exist, or deserve to be stood up for then you’re not a feminist. Sorry I don’t make the rules.

SPREAD!

SPREAD THIS!

The fact that people were laughing is ridiculous! I don’t care what your opinion is, at the end of the day that is a person being hurt by another person and to just laugh and pass it off as a joke is shocking! 🥺
