Things you can do to better your emotional well-being.
• don’t say maybe if you want to say no. Say no freely. It is a complete sentence which does not require justification, unless you want to.
• being honest but remaining kind is one of the biggest power balances to have to learn.
• remember not everyone has the same intentions. You’ll meet devils dressed as the sweetest angels you’ll ever see.
• ultimately, it is not your duty to “fix people”. You can only do so much.
• some people won’t want your help, that doesn’t make your advice any less valuable. You can’t force someone to listen, even if it is what they need to hear.
• expecting to be happy every day is unrealistic. Let’s face it, the world can be cruel and callous, but there will always be streaks of gold around you if you choose to notice them.
• contentment is underrated.
• your dreams and aspirations will not be served to you like an evening meal. You have to actively pursue what you want in life, don’t expect it to come knocking at your door simply because you’re a good person. I wish it worked like that, but it doesn’t.
• comparison will take over your life, if you let it.
• it’s very rare to excel at something the very first time you do it, but giving up simply means giving up your opportunity to excel.
• your peers might have opportunities in life earlier than you, or some you never get at all. Learn to find peace with that or it will eat you inside out. Don’t let the speed of other peoples journey slow yours down.
• manners are really important.
• remember to reflect on how far you’ve come.
• being thoughtful has the capability to change things for the better
• listen to your body. Drink water. Try not to eat things that are sugar covered and bright blue for breakfast. Get enough sleep. Contentment starts from the inside.
• be mindful that you have no idea what goes on behind other people’s front doors.
• learn when to let go. Whether that be of someone, something, a situation, a moment. If it doesn’t make you happy, why would you waste another second on it?
• it’s never too late to start over.
• don’t be scared to ask for help, but be prepared to accept the answers.

remember the last time you thought to yourself, this is the best day of my life? you will have days like that again. days where you’re calm and radiating light, where your heart is full of love, where you feel like you will be just fine, despite everything you had to go through. on days like that you’ll know the truth, not the lies that your negative emotions tell you. I hope you have a day like that soon.
