Calisto Yew is truly the only character in the Investigations games that makes sense. All the women in this game are like “omg… Mr. Edgeworth… so refined and proper… so hot haha… I think I’m in love…” while her immediate reaction to him is “what the fuck are you wearing and why do you talk like that. what the fuck.” and that’s incredibly valid of her. Truly the only realistic and believable reaction to being exposed to Miles Edgeworth. If a man spoke to me in real life wearing a frilly cravat and tsk tsked at me and said some shit like “checkmate” I would simply shove him into a locker. Maybe also take his lunch money but apparently the butterfly effect of doing that spawns lovesick lawyers into the Ace Attorney universe. rip to Rhoda Teneiro and Lauren Paups but I’m different.
One thing I liked about Turnabout Reclaimed, and maybe it says more about the sorry state of media and general rather than a compliment to the case, is that… like, after all of the romantic interpretations Phoenix and Athena were giving to Dr. Crab’s behavior regarding Azura and ignoring his insistance that they were friends and he doesn’t do romance….. he turned out to be 100% truthful and Phoenix and Athena shouldn’t have shoved their noses into it and forced their Dumb Heteronormativity on him.
And, like, I know that “Grumpy Antisocial Aromantic” can be a stereotype with some negative implication, but still…. I love this Aro Bird Man.

absolute funniest thing that capcom ever did was establish an intimidating and antagonistic rival at the top of his field in the first ace attorney and then in the sequel reveal that he’s actually the soft bitch of the family and his extremely powerful little sister is coming to beat the shit out of you
