ALL IN ONE: A LEGACY CHALLENGE REWRITTEN

Hello! I said yesterday I was going to post these rules, but I have been having such a blast just decorating my town, (the one you see in the picture is the one I’m filling up!), and I thought it would be nice to post my legacy rules! The All In One challenge is almost like the LEPacy challenge where you play each expansion pack from the Base Game to Into The Future (or random). I don’t really think there are any official rules for this particular challenge since its pretty self explanatory but if there are rules, then I’m dumb and can’t find them. Credit to whoever game up with the challenge though! The challenge is under the cut!

Zodiac Legacy Challenge for the Sims 3

If you’re like me, I like a good legacy challenge with nice themes/aesthetics to place/plan out with each heir with enough wiggle room for creative interpretations. No. Well I’ve always wanted to do a zodiac legacy challenge but could never find the rules for TS3 or most of them were made for TS4.  So I guess I thought I would just make one then. 

This was all made on a whim but it’s a strong whim. So enjoy the whim. “@” me if you use the rules since I didn’t come up with a tag for this.

Cosmic Legacy Challenge for TS3

Oh wow, its my third challenge. Anyway, I was looking for new challenges and wondered why no one has made a planet themed challenge for TS3 (there’s a lot for TS4). So I decided to make one.

Cosmic Legacy Challenge is a 11 gen challenge that includes the sun, planets, the moon,and Pluto because I wanted Pluto so therefore, its spaced theme. Each generation is based off a mix of astronomy, astrology,and greek/roman mythology. Some of the goals in certain generations require your sim crying/drama and if that’s your playstyle that’s cool but heads up if it isn’t. So if you enjoy space, space themed adventures, or a bit of drama from time to time in your legacies, this might be for you.

Follower Gift - New Twinbrook Beta

like the name says; it’s an edited Twinbrook. Manly to make it playable with more EP’s than Ambitions. Now you also have community lots from Late Night, Showtime, Pets, Supernatural and University Life
Other than that I replaced the textures of the terrain and streets, did a lot terrain painting myself, changed the routing and placed more lots.
The rest is absolutely the same like in Twinbrook that includes even the population of the town
I named it Beta, cause there still might be issues…I mean I played the world, but there is always the chance that I missed something, so if you find any issues, even if it’s a small one, message me asap. And I thought before I place any Store objects or Store venues I should upload the world.
I deleted the ID file of the world so it’s not a default one and you can still play the normal Twinbrook

You will need every EP, except Into the Future, and Isla Paradiso is optional, cause i only placed the distant terrain of it

PRIMER: HD Skin for All Ages (Baby-Elder)

This is a brand new skin, but should suit sims made with Starfruit, as I try to keep my face textures neutral enough to work with a wide variety of features. Everything, from the ears to the fingernails and genitals, has been painted and tweaked to the best of my ability. It’s still not perfect, but if I don’t share this now, I never will.

I am sharing this in a variety of resolutions so you can pick the quality level appropriate for your game - the non-defaults will not conflict, and the ramps are labeled with the quality level so you can easily compare. 

The elder bodies are not included in the default versions. Elders will instead use my adult body textures. This is because by default, EA shares the same body texture for teens through elders. You can only have unique teen/elder body textures with non-default skins.

*4/23/2017* For anyone spotting this download for the first time, I’d like to add that after numerous, numerous attempts at editing the specular to produce greater in-game effects, I haven’t been able to produce a worthwhile result. You’re free to download this and try it for yourself, but I would keep expectations at a minimum. Currently debating deleting this altogether. This makes a minuscule amount of difference in that it has less glare than EA’s smeary default, however, that’s about it.  

*UPDATED 2/26/16* So, it seems that the face specular can also impact the eye mesh. My original version of this mod may have caused a slight sheen on the iris. Thanks to @buckleysims, I’ve corrected this issue.  Please re-download! I apologize for the inconvenience. 

HD Specular Default Replacement (1K Faces & 2K Bodies)

Primer’s texture has been mixed with EA’s maps and details have been adapted from Buhudain’s normal maps. Scalps, faces and bodies are all included to ensure seamless shine. Just like You Are Real, this should enhance the appearance of all skins that do not include custom specular maps. This is intended to complement Buhudain’s mod, not replace it. I use this with You Are Real. Ultimately, specular changes are pretty subtle, and the difference is better captured in motion than in a single image. All screenshots were taken with this replacement installed.

ICOLOPOLIS

ICOLOPOLIS was at its beginning a vast orange grove on the right bank of Llama River, surrounded by a few peasant houses. Ico Lopoli, its owner, was so skilled, ambitious and enterprising that in a few years those few houses became a prosperous, populated, modern and lively city. Despite the fame of Icolopolis, nobody knows what happened to Ico Lopoli: he mysteriously disappeared, after an incredible long and surprisingly prosperous life. Who knows, maybe he is still alive, hiding himself in disguise somewhere in the city…

Is Icolopolis worth a coffee?

Known issues:

The Owner’s door of the big show venue from Showtime is bugged (the owner walks inside instead of came out), so - just in case you will start a new game WITHOUT using my “Icolopolis POPULATED” save file - I suggest you to delete that door (using Moveobjects on), and replace it with the cloned one you’ll find in the Doors section.

I’ve cloned the basketball hoop from the Store (named cloned_basketball_hoop.package).It works fine, with its proper animations and sounds, and the original file from the Store is non required, but your Sims will play with an invisible basket ball. If you own the original basketball hoop from the Store, replace mine with your (you can eventually delete it from the Icolopolis CC folder).

TS3 Mods that I use

This list has been created for years. It is sharpened for realism, smoothness of the game, so there are no mods like Kinky or StoryProgression.

All these mods can be used together, they are tested for compatibility both through the panel and in the game.

All of them are suitable for the latest version of the game.

!!!Important!!!

  1. I have all the add-ons, catalogs and the store.
  2. Some of the mods need to be configured (Passion, system core, BGLMFT)
  3. No need to blindly download everything, at least briefly read the descriptions of mods and their possible errors, as well as the settings
  4. Make sure you have completed all these steps for a smooth game
  5. My computer is average.
  6. There are no visual fixes and default replacements in this list, otherwise the list would have doubled.
  7. SimsAsylum is not broken, registration is needed 
  8. If your computer still doesn’t pull - look at the mods in the Misc category - there are the heaviest script mods
  9. If in addition to this list you use other mods- do not forget to check for compatibility, version, put it in other folders other than the list, so that if anything, you can quickly figure out what the problem is.

CENTRAL PARK - STARLIGHT SHORES REDUX

I’ve grown to love Starlight Shores, so I thought I’d put my own personal touch on it. Here’s the first of my lot fixes. Central Park, which also doubles as a show venue and a seasonal lot, which means yes, all seasonal states have been reworked.

REQUIREMENTS

I have all EP’s and SP’s installed, and all my store content is decrapped. The only CC you’ll need is this mod, that unlocks the Simport Rewards.

INSTALLATION

This is a library file, download it and move it to your ELECTRONIC ARTS / THE SIMS 3 / LIBRARY folder.

Installation

This is a package file that should be put in your Library folder (here Document/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/Library). Do not put it in your mod folder or it won’t show up.

*I will not supply a sims3pack version because I have all EP’s and decrappified store content/worlds. If you do not have an item the game will replace it with base game content.

Boroughsburg has been updated with a wonderful curation of residential and community lots, and improvements have been made to nearly every aspects of the world!

But in addition to these improvements, a customized populated savegame has also been created—this is Boroughsburg’s Story Mode—and with more than 80 diverse sims (and many more townies), this savegame allows you to immediately jump right into Boroughsburg—right into the tangle and drama of these sims’ lives!

Boroughsburg is a mashup of DUMBO, Williamsburg, Greenpoint, Long Island City, and Astoria- but is open enough that you can build whatever bit of New York City you want in it. 

  • Boroughsburg is a medium city world, with a total of 73 lots.
  • Nearly all lots are filled in, but some lots are left unbuilt at your discretion to fill in.
  • The world also contains two dive lots, three docks, a base camp, and a homeworld university! Perfect for travellers!
  • Lot assignment has been carefully selected to ensure that nearly all community lots are regularly populated.
  • Uninhabited base world, but includes an inhabited & customized savegame. I highly recommend playing in the savegame first.
  • Will require a decent computer to run smoothly! Created on Windows 7 | Processor Intel® Core™ i7-6700K CPU @ 4.00GHz | Video Card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 | RAM 32 GB
  • Built on Patch level 1.67.

CC Notes

  • All custom-made CC is included in several packages. You must install them or else all you’ll get is an empty black world!
  • Includes recolors & replacements of the hot air balloon, train, police car, firetruck, taxis, flags, moon, clouds and weather made specifically for a New York environment- if you want to see these in action, you will need to remove other default replacement mods first.

How I enhance my gameplay, aside from mods!

Custom Clubs:

- Study Groups I will always have a club for children and teens respectively that gathers after school to do homework. Sometimes, I add additional things such as Conservation Activities for the Sulani Youth Group!

- After-Work Coffee Clubs When my Sim starts a new career, I will start a Club for them and their coworkers, with the activities “Eat” and “Drink Coffee”, then I bake some cookies and gather at my house at least once a week. 

- Extended Family Clubs A Club I have one member of my household (usually the heir) in, and all of their relatives that don’t currently live with them. Boom, easy, one-click family reunions.

- School Clubs I do use Afterschool Activities through mods, but sometimes I just make a club, like, “Yearbook Club” or something, add “write books/read books” as the activity and gather once a week in a library. You can do a lot with that! I’ve had track teams, drama clubs, swim teams, basketball teams, even gaming clubs!

Custom Holidays A set of holidays I make in every save, in addition to the ones that come with the game

Winterfest Tomrorrow! The day before Winterfest, to prepare. Activities are:Cleaning, Festive Spirit, Festive Lighting (light your tree!) and Decorating!

Winterfest Day The day after Winterfest, Traditions are: Invite Guests, Give Gifts, Grand Meal This is basically just a day to invite your extended family over, have dinner and give them your gifts. I try to have my sims give their relatives gifts they’d actually like, like maybe books, or something.

Spring Awakening First day of Spring, Traditions are: Excercise, Cleaning, Baking, Gardening. A day to get ready for Spring and get your stuff together.

Winter and Summer Holiday I fill the week of Winterfest and the second week of Summer with “Day off Work/School” holidays that don’t have any traditions. You can send your adults to work anyway, so it can just function like a school holiday.  I also use a mod by littlemssam that adds a “school holiday” tradition, so only your kids and teens have the day off by default

World Day Usually in the middle of the summer holiday. Traditions are Traveling and Beach Cleanup, which is a modded tradition, but you can substitute it with “cleaning”, as picking up trash in Sulani fullfills that.

Midsummer Water Fun and inviting guests. Basically a day for pool parties, in, you guessed it, the middle of Summer

Pride Usually in the first week of Summer. Party spirit, Art & Music spirit and Attending a Holiday Ceremony, which I pretend is a pride march. I also use a mod that adds “pride spirit”, but that’s optional.

Last day of Summer As the name suggests, on the last day of summer. Traditions are BBQ, Water Fun, and Drinking. Another fun, party day to send off Summer with a bang. Often spend this day on holiday in Grante Falls!

Mental Health Day First day of Fall, to prepare for the dark season with little Vitamin D. Traditions are making resolutions, thankful spirit (yknow, to acknowledge what you have and get yourself in that positive mindset), and excercise. I also add a custom tradition to use the journal from parenthood here!

Day of the Lost Rememberance, Attending a Holiday Ceremony and traveling. The traveling is only meant to be “visit the graveyard”, which I have built in my world.

Miscellaneous

- When I adopt a child, I send the family to a restaurant to have a little welcome dinner!

- Same thing for the day after a Teen ages up to YA. I roleplay it as celebrating their graduation.

- Restaurants in general! I add a ton of them, from pizza places, ice cream parlors to bakeries!

- Every time a Uni student finishes a term successfully, I send them partying to unwind and mentally prepare for the next term

- School projects are always a group thing. I have siblings and, if they’re availabke, parents help out and benefit from the skill gain!

- vacations. If I can afford it, I will send the family on vacation to sulani during summer break, and Mt Komorebi during winter. Some families also go on camping trips to Grantie Falls over the weekend!

- Social events! I feel like I forget about that feature when I don’t remind myself to use them. Dinner parties, Teen parties, dance parties, you name ‘em!

Plasma-Jane’s Gameplay Guide: High School and Teen Edition

Hi everyone, this gameplay guide has been a long time in the making.  When High School Years was announced, I was so excited for its potential and the ability to expand our teen sims’ lives.  It was that potential that inspired this gameplay guide and the creation of several After School Activities, School Events, Field Trips, and Volunteering Ideas. All events were designed to be used with the club system that came with Get Together.

the postcard legacy challenge 

howdy!! we have written a gameplay legacy challenge that currently consists of 23 generations as of july 2021. we have always enjoyed gameplay and the idea of creating this challenge came from the many prompts we gave ourselves. several generations we have played ourselves and several others are brand new that we have yet to try! as new stuff, game and expansion packs get released, we will update with more prompts to the google doc! if you have any questions, do feel free to reach out. we’ll be happy to help!

the joy of life legacy challenge by @simelune 35 generations to keep you playing.

as i was looking for legacy challenges that were being updated as new packs came out, i had the thought "hey, why not just write one myself?" so here we are! i'll do by best to add new generations as time goes on, but seeing as this already has 35 (!!) generations, i think we'll be okay for a bit.

a few notes:

  • this challenge incorporates mods. i tried to include options for players who do not use gameplay mods, but some generations are built around them.
  • this challenge uses (almost) all packs. some generations are based off specific packs though, so you could pick and choose which gens you want to do.
  • this challenge has story aspects. there's a lot of room for you to come up with a story yourself each generation, so have fun with it!
  • some generations are longer and more involved than others! this is meant to give you a bit of a break and provide variety between generations.
