perfectly put. i'd like to add that child safety plays a huge part in things too. internet spaces where adults and minors coexist present a risk of grooming - all it takes is one sick fuck to decide that they're going to take advantage of the 16 year old convinced they're "mature enough" to be there.
also, something that people seem to gloss over: an overconsumption of pornographic material with a still-developing brain is damaging. a lot of people with the "mdni" in their bio/works have experience with the negative impacts of reading too much written erotica during their teens. you start to realise them when you first engage in adult relationships.
ultimately, we're not gatekeeping. we have boundaries you should respect as we would yours, and we want you to be as safe as possible.
To put a point on it, literally it is dangerous for everyone involved if a minor decides they want to pretend to be an adult and enter adult spaces. I make no bones about it, this is not a page for those under 18+ and I remind y'all in near constant about that fact. Is there content I post that is not explicit and 18+? Sure. Best tip I got as a kid dealing with too much adult attention (I had DD cup breasts at 12, so I know my fair share about unwanted adult attention); if the people their age don't want them, there is likely a damn good reason and you should not fall for their shit either.
