the fact that the joycons snap on now with plugs scares me. What was wrong with the rails?? Thos eplugs seem like theyre gonna get so loose so quick for those who swap around joycons a lot. the beautiful 3ds could never.
apparently its magnets not just the plug, but yeah it's something im a bit worried about as well. at least if the joycons break AGAIN it would be extremely funny LOL
ive. never had that experience personally? nor do i know anyone with that issue?
also there very notably was something wrong with the rails. if the console got bumped or dropped at all with joycons connected the plastic clip would get chipped and they just wouldnt stay on the console anymore. hardware modders often replaced these with more durable metal clips that while fixing the problem also came with their own issues with the added weight and whatnot. combined with tons of connection issues with the pins on the rail of the console they really had to do Something about it and having it be magnets that can just fall out to avoid damage when the console is dropped or something will probably be an improvement durability-wise so long as they are able to keep their strength over time(these seem like they will be electromagnets that will be released by pressing the button on the back).

you have to remember that ppl are stupid as sin, the general public would assume its an addon and not a new console if the name wasnt direct enough, just like they did with the wii u, and it would hurt sales
(and then, just like with the wii u, you'd get dumb parents bitching about wii u games not working on their 2006 wii)
nintendo learned their lesson, ppl are dumb, and creative names hurt your sales, you have to be direct

In all seriousness, it’s just a hardware upgrade IMO and that’s all it needed to be. The switch is almost perfect already - as long as the 2 can fix the long-term reliability issues with the controllers and keep playing my games then I’m perfectly happy with it.
cant wait to wake up tomorrow to see the internet be swallowed by switch 2 related chaos
whether it's actually announced or not, it'll probably be a shitshow either way
