Isabella (she/her) ~ feeling 22 ~ Taylor Swift enthusiast ~ likes English Lit and The Phantom of the Opera a probably significant amount as well

Revenge of the Sith was on the tv last night and I wanted to tune in long enough to sigh over Hayden Christensen, my boy, my beautiful boy, but had to get out before the scary stuff started and yet I was still upset. That movie really traumatized me. My parents shouldn’t have let me watch it at age four.

I think God is punishing me for playing God because I wrote a character in my thinly veiled Downton Abbey fanfic but everyone’s gay who has a crush on a priest then what happens to me? I get a crush on a priest. Then I write another character throwing up then what happens to me? I throw up. These can no longer be considered a coincidence.

Last night another character - who happens to be the sister of the priest loving and vomiting characters - came into possession of three tickets to see in demand musician Twyla Whist in London. It has become that serious, guys.

I, a swiftie blog, see I have six notifications. Surely one of them is for a swiftie post that I, a swiftie blog, made me thinks. I open my notifications. One is for a Disney Princess post I made on a whim. One is a post I made about Wuthering Heights several months ago. Three are for a Phantom of the Opera post. The last is my ongoing discussion of Mexican food with @sophisticatedswifts.

Moment of truth: I have never had a tortilla in my life and am not entirely sure what it is

No way!! This blew my mind. My jaw literally dropped. I eat tortillas all the time, at least the flour kind. It’s a very flat piece of bread used in tacos, burritos, enchiladas, and other types of Mexican dishes. At least that’s my association with it! I eat it regularly with chicken tacos, ground beef tacos, and fajita tacos as well as different types of burritos. I had a really good breakfast burrito last week actually.

They serve fresh ones in the Mexican restaurants I go to, and sometimes you can even see women making them inside the restaurants. Those are so good. The prepackaged ones they sell at grocery stores are pretty bland compared to the restaurant ones but they get the job done. There are also corn tortillas, which are good too but I prefer flour. They have a different taste and texture.

Anyway, I love tortillas and Mexican food a lot if you can’t tell. I think my favorite meal as a kid was when I would order tortillas and refried beans from the Mexican restaurant near my house and eat them together.

After reblogging this I realized I lied: a tortilla was what Mr Potato Head disguised himself as in Toy Story Three, right?

This is all very interesting. I have two follow up questions: what are enchiladas and what are fajita tacos?

I love that your only knowledge of tortillas comes from Toy Story Three. That’s amazing. And yes, that was a tortilla that he used!

Enchiladas are a dish that consists of a tortilla with a filling, usually chicken or beef or sometimes cheese, and the tortilla is smothered with a red sauce and cheese. It looks something like this:

And fajitas are a dish that comes out in a skillet like the picture below and includes strips of meat. I’ve always seen either chicken, beef, shrimp, or a combination of those. It also comes with vegetables like bell peppers and onions. And on the side they give you tortillas as well as a dish with lettuce, sour cream, cheese, and other toppings you might want to add. Then you make your own taco with the fajita meat and whatever toppings you want!

It might look or sound questionable if you’re not familiar with it, but I promise it’s incredibly good!!

Okay, this continues to be interesting. While I recognized your description of tortillas, this image of the enchilada is brand new information to me.
