honestly it is utterly hilarious to me that Percy is just like “i dont wanna be a part of the great prophecy” for like the first three books, the two other characters the prophecy could have fallen to either before or around the same time when it would apply to him – Thalia and Bianca – both reject it as well (only they’re succesful lmao rip), and then finally Percy is like “dammit fine I’ll fucking do it”, and then has to be told point blank throughout the entire final boook that he’s not the hero… it just sends me. Give the kid a break.
Percy throughout the last olympian, having been the first child of the big three to have actually chosen to bare the burden of the great prophecy when no one else would and taking on the brunt of the responsibilty, only to be told by everyone that he’s not the hero vs Percy finally figuring out that the hero line of the prophecy actually refers to ~ L u k e ~ cause he said switchies at the last second
