@drarrynesss

who knew two boys like these could ever fall in love?
draco: would you rather date someone more chill and laid back, or someone high maintenance but who would take care of your every need?
harry *raises an eyebrow*: definitely laid back, I can’t deal with people who are high maintenance.
draco: what? wait, what? obviously isn’t the high maintenance person better? I -
harry: just kidding. I’m dating you, and I’ve known for *a while* that you’re pretty high maintenance *winks*

there wasn’t clarification for hp, so I’m going to do in general. I haven’t read fic in ages due to being busy, and I’m also not in the fandom world as much as I used to be

1. drarry

2. percabeth (from the rick riordan world)

3. malec - their dynamic makes me nuttt

4. pinny (pansy and ginny, hp)

5. leslie and ben from parks and rec, lmao they’re cute and leslie reminds me of myself

this one is so hard! I really love classic shows, not a lot of new ones lol.

1. the office

2. parks and rec

3. friends (currently rewatching!)

4. chef’s table - this is like real life documentary style episodes on chefs, but I’m gonna say it counts

5. queer eye!

I feel like secretly, draco malfoy is exactly the type of person to like rap. maybe in some other world he’s into classical music, but it seems fitting that someone who has a hard time expressing their emotions and often is silent yet has a lot of opinions would really enjoy it. I’m just imagining harry walking in, the music’s blaring and then he walks straight out of the door because it’s not his “indie shit” as draco calls it that he likes.

Hey can you help me find a fic? I can’t remember if it’s Drarry or not, but harry is wrongly sent to azkaban and when he released there’s a press conference and everyone thinks he’s lost it and he goes up to Draco and is like “dang I’ve missed you” and kisses him just to freak out people and Draco just goes along with it, at least that’s one of the chapters, any idea of what it is?

hey, so sorry I’m just looking at this now! I don’t, but just mention my tumblr : )

The Designer (???)

I saw this post from @drarrynesss about a Rugby Harry and a Designer Draco who’s closed off and wanted to give it a shot! So this is kinda bad because I haven’t written in a while, and genuinely don’t know the logistics of tumblr. But I felt inspired and i had forgotten how much I like writing. Anyways here’s this based off the above idea! Hope you like it!

Harry begrudgingly dragged himself down the streets of France in search of some high class designer. He was tasked with getting a hand tailored uniform for the cover photo of Rugby Today magazine. If he was being honest, Harry hated the idea, but when you’re the great Harry Potter, you’ve gotta do what you gotta do. So after a lot of coffee and a lot of wandering the streets he finally found the boutique he was looking for.

He walked inside and examined the posh yet welcoming building. The place was decorated almost entirely with green and silver. Harry immediately felt a rush of embarrassment looking at his jeans and t-shirt he’d thrown on haphazardly.

Nevertheless the man proceeded to the front desk where a woman with a short bob stood and asked for his name. He gave it and she looked shocked for a moment, but then walked down a long hallway. Leaving Harry alone to peruse the fancy palace like studio. Eventually the girl came back and told him to follow her back down the hallway. She led him to a doorway at the end which had the name Draco Malfoy embossed into the black wood in silver lettering.

Harry looked around and the girl was gone, leaving him with a pang of unease. But he swallowed it down and slowly turned the doorknob. The room was very dimly lit and he could barely make out a silhouette.

“Come in” a voice said. So he did. The voice belonged to a man of about Harry’s age. He was very tall and pale and every feature on his face seemed to come to a point. The man had a foot on Harry easily and looked so pale as if he’d been inside for a long long time. He assumed this was the designer and proceeded to introduce himself. But the man shushed him and gestured to a block which Harry stood up on.

“This will be quick work, then you can be on your way.” The man said to Harry. He grabbed a tape measure and began taking Harry’s measurements. Harry, though he’d been in many photo shoots, had never been fitted for anything. So as soon as the man began to measure his hips he realized it tickled, quite a lot to be honest. So he struggled to stay still, which was very apparent to the pointy man.

He sighed and tried another tactic.

“What if you hold the measure too. Then it takes away some of the uncertainty.” he said handing the tape over to Harry. So Harry did as told and let the man guide his own hand around as he took the final measurements. Harry was close enough to the man to spot a dusting of pale freckles across his nose and cheeks. The man glanced up at Harry for a second before leaving to grab a sketchbook.

Harry waited patiently for the man to return. He didn’t know why but he had the urge to ask the man questions. He could assume the man was lonely, as noted by his brash and off-putting demeanor and very short responses and Harry wanted to know why.

The pale man returned and stood in front of Harry. He slipped a pencil above his ear which pushed his blonde hair behind the ear too. The man began studying Harry. Taking moments to sketch something and occasionally scratch it out. He figured this was the time, so Harry stepped off the stand and went over to the man.

“What are you doing” the man pressed, scrunching up his face angrily.

“I don’t think I every got your name! I’m Harry by the way, Harry Potter” Harry said reaching his hand out to shake.

“Get back over there and let me finish. I have no time for conversation.” the man replied shooing Harry.

“Well anyways, I like your place, but it could use a little more...joy.” Harry returned pointing at different ways the man could renovate the studio.

“I don’t need your critiques. I’ve been doing this much longer than you.” The man retorted as he watched Harry pace around his office.

“Hey, so those sketch’s. I like them, but you made me look a lot more attractive than i actually am.” Harry pointed out snatching the book from the man who’s face turned beet red.

“Give that back.” The man scowled reefing the book back from Harry’s grip.

“Fine, you win.” Harry said climbing back up onto the stool. “So what’s your favorite color then, that’s an easy question?”

*sigh* “Green.” the man replied, happy to have his model back in place.

“Ahh, like my eye color green? I’ve been told I have pretty eyes.” Harry said smiling in his Harry-like manner.

“Uh-yeah-sure. Your eyes are green.” The man said flustered as he dropped his sketchbook.

“So what’s with this whole tough guy with no emotions act you’ve got going? It seems kind sad.” Harry said stepping down and picking up the book for the man.

“Nothing. It doesn’t matter. Would you please excuse me while I go get some fabric.” The man said and hurried off.

He came back with lot of red and gold fabric and a set of needles and thread. He had no choice but to ask Harry to undress in order to get the right fit. Which led to an hour of awkward silence for the both of them. In the end Harry was left with many missed needle pokes and sorry’s from the other man, but the outfit was finished and actually looked half decent considering the struggle.

Afterwards, Harry didn’t have the heart to leave the man alone again, so he decided to push the envelope once more.

“So, since you aren’t busy for the rest of the day, would you be willing to accompany me for coffee? I need some way to repay you for putting up with me!”

“What makes you assume I’m not busy.” The man answered with a slightly less sour scowl.

Harry shrugged.

“Fine. I will join you, simply because you have put me through the ringer and I could use a break” the man said faking annoyance.

So after picking up the scraps, and Harry re-dressing the two headed out for a night in the city. They walked together, but neither said a word. Until Harry broke the silence. “So, Draco is it? When was the last time you left that studio?”

“Um, it’s been, a while. But I don’t mind it there. Not really.” Draco replied with a much less bitter tone.

“Isn’t it nice. All of the lights and people and life!” Harry replied as Draco looked around as if he’d never something more beautiful. Harry looked at him again, this time seeing more than a snooty designer, more of a man who was so in so deep he’d need a lot of coaxing to re-surface.

“So, if it was up to you, what would you be doing with your life?” Harry asked smiling.

“Well. I don’t really know. Nobody’s ever asked me what I want. To be honest it probably doesn’t matter anyways. It’s not like I can change anything now.” Draco said sheepishly, looking down at his feet.

“Of course it matters. I want to know. Plus, change isn’t easy, but it’s not impossible. What if I tell you a stupid story about me and then whatever you have to say will pale in comparison.” Draco nodded, and Harry thought he saw the slightest smile emerge.

“Okay. So you know when you go to the fair and they have that stupid fish game. The one where you always win the fish no matter how much you suck.” Harry began, gesturing with his hands as he spoke animatedly

“I’ve never been to a fair. My family didn’t do that kind of thing. You know, fun stuff.”

“Oh, well anyways. I was like six. I won this stupid little goldfish and named him Lucky. He was my best friend. My uncles, Remus and Sirius, bought him a cool little tank and everything. So one day little lucky was getting sick of the little tank. Or so my uncle said. So we took him and his little tank over to the pond near our house. We had this large ceremony for the little guy and then released him into the water. Then, within seconds a big ole fish came along and snatched my best friend up for some lunch. Poor six year old Harry was devastated. To this day I will never look at a fish the same way.

Draco was actually kinda smiling now. “So your Lucky fish wasn’t so lucky.” He replied, looking Harry in the face for the first time. Harry couldn’t help but notice the man had brilliant blue eyes that shone when he laughed.

“Now it’s your turn.” Harry pushed, accidentally brushing his hand over Draco’s. They both looked away for a second before Draco cleared his throat.

“My story is much less interesting. Anyways. So one time, when I was like sixteen. I went to this party with my friends. This is how I learned I am not meant to consume alcohol of any type. So basically I was waking home, which I somehow managed to do without getting too lost. So I got to my house and went to the yard because for some reason the door wasn’t good enough for me. So then all of a sudden this huge freaking bird came charging at me. I freaked out so badly and then proceeded to run back to the door, only to run strait into our sliding glass door smack on my face. Pretty sure I blacked out after that, but I genuinely do not remember.” as Draco finished Harry chuckled.

“I fee so stupid now. I shouldn’t have told you that. I’m sorry, I-“

“It’s okay. I’m not making fun of you. It’s called mutual laughter. Don’t worry.” Harry said, taking the chance to gently slip his fingers between the other man’s. Draco’s hand was very smooth and cold. Which was the opposite of Harry’s large clammy hands.

They walked like that for a while. With a silence this time of the peaceful sort. “Thank you. Harry.” Draco said. Taking Harry’s other hand and facing him.

“No problem. I like to make people feel better. That’s kinda my thing.”

“I appreciate it. I’ve had my heart broken so many times that it’s really hard for me to trust anyone anymore. Though you are the slightest bit annoying, I believe you won’t hurt me.”

“You’re a good person Draco. I can tell. You just need some coaxing.” and then he reached over and embraced Draco.

“What’s this?” Draco asked as Harry guided his hands around his back.

“A hug” Harry said, wondering how bad Draco’s life really was to never have received a hug.

“Oh,” Draco said, returning the gesture. Tears slipping from his eyes. He closed them taking in the warmth of Harry and the peace of the night, “I like hugs”

For the rest of the night the two went on exchanging stories. Most of them lighthearted, but Harry was able to push enough to break Draco’s hard shell too and learn about why he was so distanced from the world. Harry even managed to get Draco laughing so hard he snorted, which prompted Harry to laugh iced coffee straight out of his nose. From then on the two became much closer, and maybe it would take a while, but slowly Harry was able to gain Draco’s trust, something that Draco didn’t think could be done.

I NEED an au where draco is some high class, pretentious fashion designer who has a dark past that no one can get to. I want rugby player harry, having to be outfitted for some dumb promotional event. maybe harry asks enough questions in his carefree, eager way, but somehow they end up going on a date and slowly slowly slowly draco lets his walls down. I want cute little laughs, shy smiles, accidentally spilling embarrassing stories. someone give me a fic like this okay?!

My favourite kind of Draco redemption is the one that he earns. Where he cares enough to change his ways because he wants to, he realizes he was wrong. he was wrong and this is right, and he’s actually sorry. He puts in the fucking work for himself.

not removing his autonomy and snark and wit and everything else about his character so that he’s essentially a meek coddled damsel, batting his eyelashes and looking to Harry to save him.

and not putting all the burden on Astoria, because it’s not a woman’s job to fix a broken man.
