I’m being evicted.
Apparently they put this in our mailbox and never let us know it was there. This was put there FIVE DAYS ago. We hardly check the mail because we don’t get anything.
I have ONE DAY to get $2000. One day to get money I don’t have to keep my home for my three dogs, and my disabled mother. I was hoping to just save up and have it paid by Christmas but that isn’t an option.
I need help. And I need it fast.
Please share I can’t lost my house. I’m crying and freaking out I can’t do anything. I don’t even get paid this week.

quick protip: if someone is crying or freaking out over something minor, eg wifi not connecting, can’t find their hat, people talking too loud, do NOT tell them how small or petty the problem is to make it better. they know. they would probably love to calm down. you are doing the furthest possible thing from helping. people don’t have to earn expressions of feelings.
I’m just gonna put it out there that if someone’s freaking about something small, they’re really freaking out about something big that they’re trying to deal with, or something long term that’s been building up, and that little thing is the straw that broke the camel’s back.
I don’t know, try and give people the benefit of the doubt. Don’t be the next straw on their broken back.

reasons why spongebob is the perfect cartoon
- no shitty het romance plotlines (i.e. spongebob doesn’t have a girlfriend that’s just him with longer eyelashes and pink), and you can pretty much ship anyone with anyone because the show is written so that the male characters have relationships with both male and female characters that are treated as equally important (i.e. patrick is spongebob’s best friend, but he can still hang out with sandy without having to get bogged down by compulsory heterosexuality). the creator has even said he sees the characters as asexual
- like every long-running cartoon, it had its awful period. but the key difference here is that the creator came back to the show and made it actually good again
- it isn’t a victim of trends and has never been written that way, even when it was kinda shitty for a while. spongebob is in no danger of becoming Homer Gets An IPad/Marge Becomes An Uber Driver/Bart Falls For An Older Hipster Girl Who Vapes. the show is successful enough to be franchised, but any adherence to trend is all done in marketing, never in the actual cartoon. i think a character had a smart phone and there was a hipster character maybe once in one of the newer episodes.
- the characters all have distinct personalities and ways that they act, but they’re also malleable enough to make your own headcanons while still adhering to the canon of the show. for instance, a lot of people see the relationship between plankton and karen as a story of two closeted people stuck in a failing marriage, given plankton’s obsession with krabs. there’s not really a whole lot of subtext for karen being gay, i’ll admit, but her interactions with sandy are more amicable than with any other character. there’s also tons of subtext between krabs and plankton as much as there is for straight ships like spongebob and sandy. hell, there’s actually more fodder for gay spongebob ships than 90% of the het ships in spongebob. you could headcanon squidward as gay and it absolutely wouldn’t change a thing, after all he only dated a woman in one episode because she looked exactly like him but in a dress. the show even makes fun of how silly this is with a few visual gags
- the voice cast has essentially become immortal. these characters are written so well and acted so lovingly that it’s hard not to hear certain things in their voices. there’s so many iconic line deliveries in spongebob – “my leg!”, “WHAT I LEARNED IN BOATING SCHOOL TODAY IS–”, “is mayonnaise an instrument?”, “FUTUUUUUUUUURE”, “stupidity isn’t a virus, but it sure is spreadin’ like one”… the list goes on and on
- the main female character is treated as an equal, is not the love interest, and is allowed to engage in the comedy and act just as dumb/unattractive as the male characters, plus while she’s the smartest character on the show she isn’t the “bitchy smart girl who rolls her eyes at all the Stupid Men and just needs to get some dick so she’ll finally have relevance to the plot"
- it’s memeable to all hell. like let’s face it, every single frame in a spongebob cartoon is able to get meme’d on. it’s a goddamn work of art is what it is

like for starters, outside of spongebob, sandy, and larry - who are kind and caring and beacons of goodness - karen is probably like… one of the more morally upstanding citizens in bikini bottom (without necessarily being a “good” person though) like, has she ever actively done anything wrong in her life? i can’t even name a single thing shes actively, intentionally, and of her free will, ever done wrong in any single episode of the cartoon, in either of the two movies, or any of the comics i’ve read. we’re excluding the musical because as enjoyable as it is, it’s basically a live action reenacted fanfiction.
but as far as things actually created by those who worked on the actual cartoon and show? i dont think she’s ever actively done anything wrong
oh, she enables plankton upon occasion, sure. she might analyze information for him, she might help him with blueprints. but thats her job. and not even one she enjoys or cares for. i mean, all of his inventions and schemes inevitably fail - and its her job to make sure that they don’t. but most of the time she makes a half-hearted attempt or doesn’t even try. and has she ever actively gone out of her way to antagonize anyone, or otherwise act cruelly toward those who haven’t done something to deserve it within the context of her relationship or their interactions with her? does she actively go out of her way to go out and get the krabby patty secret formula in an unlawful manner? i can’t think of a time that she has! she bought plankton a krabby kids meal once but it was obtained lawfully from krabs himself, who knowingly gave it to her of his own free will, and the two were chatting amiably beforehand!
and we know that she could steal the formula more efficiently than plankton can dream of, based on the comics and at least one episode. but she doesnt. she even recorded the creation of the formula, but simply chooses not to analyze the ingredients or otherwise provide plankton with the formula he craves. even though she already has it, even though she doesn’t care about his formula schemes and would be unaffected by the outcome. in fact, in frozen face-off she actively prevents him from getting the formula. so mostly shes an apathetic, uninvolved true neutral. but her heart tends to be in the right place.
she may bitter and sarcastic towards most of the cast except sandy, including her own husband, but for the most part she tends to be chill and considerate towards others. shes also so goofy and fun-loving, with such a charming and quirky sense of humor - and affection for cute things and easily gets excited about those cute things! and frankly, all she wants is to be loved and given positive attention. whats not to love about her, honestly. her worst mistake? marrying plankton. but that’s not even completely on her since i recall that she mentioned in the first movie that she never actually agreed to getting married anyways, so who can blame her for that!
and imho thats like, the main appeal of her character. shes a computer, but she’s very much so a real woman with complex emotions and feelings … and she’s married to an evil engineer-scientist, but she’s not a bad person… god i love her
