Love how tumblr has its own folk stories. Yeah the God of Arepo we’ve all heard the story and we all still cry about it. Yeah that one about the woman locked up for centuries finally getting free. That one about the witch who would marry anyone who could get her house key from her cat and it’s revealed she IS the cat after the narrator befriends the cat.
Might I add:
The defeat of the wizard who made people choose how they’d be to be executed
The woman who raised the changeling alongside her biological child
The human who died of radiation poisoning after repairing the spaceship

Saw this and went out looking for Different Stories Resonate with Different People ("eat shit and die 233"). The #1 tumblr story I think of (maybe tied with Arepo) and none of yall list it

I think it should take longer to make tv shows and movies. I think shooting days should be shorter. I think AD's lives should be longer. I think we shouldn't have to be in a goddamn rush all the time. I think we should have the time it takes to make good art. I think fans should wait even longer than they do and be happy that everyone who made the art is getting full nights of sleep.

it does more harm than good to prop up the myth of the ‘neurotypical’ who completes tasks cheerfully with no issues. this person is a capitalist fantasy. the more you define yourself in comparison to this myth the more you justify social structures staying the same with minor accommodations to the ‘exceptions’ and the continued pathologizing of discomfort under hostile conditions

I keep hesitating cause i feel like the same thing is going to happen to me and I'll be sad about it
different people have different tastes, you can always sample the beginning and see how you feel about it after two chapters or so

different timing could have really affected my experience of the book tbh
I'm in the same boat as @haru-desune, I liked it a lot but I can immediately see why you wouldn't. I love a happy lil book where nothing happens
By the way, in the case of the currently threatened WGA strike, "don't cross the picket line" does NOT mean avoid all streaming services. It means:
- don't write for TV studios
- avoid reality shows and other scab shows they may try to push during the strike (if there is one)
- @ studios on social media asking when your favorite TV show will come back
- donate to a strike fund if there is one
Strikes work best if the company sees that there is a demand that it's impossible for them to meet. So feel free to watch your favorite shows, especially current shows, and tell studios on social media that you support the writers!
