You want to know what it’s like writing an original character who is a female? 

This is the first ever piece of hate I’ve received and since then it’s only grown.

This is what it’s like writing a female muse in a roleplay fandom, especially a female OC.  Everyday many of us are bombarded with anonymous hate calling our muses sluts and whores for wanting to ship something.  We’re told that’s all we want to write and shamed for it, and yet when we try to write something platonic, adventurous, or something aside from romance, we’re laughed at because our muses aren’t strong enough to do it.  

As female OC’s we do our best and try to find people who will love our muse as much as we do to little or no avail because there is always something new or better that comes up.  We never complain or say anything because we don’t want to be a bother.  We don’t want to show any emotion because it will only worsen the stigma around us.  

Female OC writers are ridiculed for coming up with a character we love and questioned why we’d even do so when no one wants to interact with us, and yet when a male character has a similar story or does a similar plot they’re applauded and cherished.  

As female OC’s we have to constantly keep our page looking up to date and spectacular.  Our icons need to be flashy and perfect, our writing small and bold, and our homepage more graphic than most people are capable.  If we do not do things no one will even look at us.  

It’s constantly worrying about saying the wrong thing, about not getting too excited if romance does come our muse’s way.  It’s about always having to triple check and wonder if we should reblog the NSFW meme then trying to gather enough courage to face the hate we know we’ll get.  It’s worrying constantly about whether or not you can get excited about anything because you don’t want to seem annoying.  It’s debating for hours to post a headcanon you were once really excited about, but you’re unsure if anyone actually cares.  It’s waiting weeks to receive one meme.  It’s watching people you admire never answer yours despite your mutual status.  

Day after day we log on and wonder how much we can express our muse.  It’s wondering if we should even say anything at all because we know how much the RP world hates female oc’s and we don’t want to give anyone else a reason to.  It’s watching your other female oc’s struggle with the exact same problem.  It’s every single day wondering if you should just give up on your muse that you worked so hard to create.

We give more than we receive, and we’ve had to learn how to be okay with that because let’s face it we know how to because it’s an issue in the real world too.

So here’s to our strong women in the RPC, muse and mun.  I see you all.  I support you all.

Megan groaned. "Its just been one thing after another!" She waved. "Its driving me nuts!" She said. "I got told some bigwig was coming today and that I had to use the girls uniform! Pharoah stole my breakfast then the card store was bought out!" She huffed. "And I had heard they had gotten special dragon packs too!" She said

the second part made Leysa snap. “You haven’t had breakfast!? UNACCEPTABLE!!”

She pulled out a series of tupperware containers full of muffins. “Ok what flavour would you like I’ve got, mixed Berry, peanut butter and chocolate, apple and cinnamon or any of them in gluten free and allergen free!”

Megan blinked then slowly looked up stunned and confused. "M...miss mutou.....why....i....ya know what never mind I'm not gonna ask. Chocolate please and thank you." She asked. How did she carry all that????

Thinking on it since Megan got her blue eyes from a raffle kaiba held, I kinda wanna make it that kaiba took note of who she was and actually kept tabs on her abit. Wanting to see if shed honestly be good to be the successor to the blue eyes legacy. (Kinda like Sheppard and zane)

Maybe at some point seto comes to DA to duel her to see if she still has the fire needed to be worthy of the blue eyes

Beginning---

Bright, determined and defends her brother when he needs it. Protective. Has her own fire though. Temper. Defensive if she feels someones being treated unfairly. (Chazz with slade and jagger)

Shadow riders arc-

Nervous. Watchful. Knows chancellor Sheppard took into account her temper and that's why he probably didnt choose her as a key holder. Knows she cant do much in the duels except be there for jaden. Mainly support

If nightingale au-gets manipulated into taking a shadow charm, a bracelet. It feeds off dark feelings she holds back. Her anger and quiet jealousy of how much sunshine jaden seems to be and how shes just seen as the dragon guarding the princess. Gets a new deck, dragon's royalty deck(more info later) Is freed after a heart to heart duel with jaden, who uses toony against her to snap her out of it

Season 2/society of light arc--

Abit more experience under her belt. Determination fresh again. Trying to deal with the grief from banners absence. Takes care of pharaoh the most cuz kitty. And meg lov kitty

Constantly butts heads with aster. REALLY doesnt like that hes singling her brother out. Protective twin. Helps where she can with taking society folks out. Gets targeted by sartorius too.

Season 3-

And 2- all 3 boys have really interesting dynamics with Megan that are really fun to write (overviews below)

Megan x aster-headbutting sassy dorks bouncing off of each other but helping eachother. Megan helps aster not feel so alone and he helps Megan feel less self conscious about her rowdiness

Megan x Atticus- sad dork memelord gets help dealing and accepting the darkness he holds. Also treats Megan like a princess while everyone laughs cuz it flusters her. While megan bonks him for being a dramatic dork

Then Megan x Zane- woooooo boy. This one is complicated but fun. Megan deals with conflicting emotions cuz shes frustrated with how zane treats Syrus but she also knows theres stuff going on. It's a long road to understanding and it's got great angst potential
