So many thoughts on the fabulous Barbie film, but especially on how anyone who thinks it’s “hateful towards men” clearly isn’t getting the message.

SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT

[Credit for both gifs goes to their makers!!]

Some hand references from an old pack on DA. If you need some more hands I recommend checking out my Handy Hand Book in my Ko-Fi shop! It has over 400 hand references and comes in a PDF or physical book format.

I swear I’ve gone my whole life not understanding what was even slightly attractive about Ryan Gosling but him being Ken has completely changed my mind.

The man is flawless. A hero. Adorable. Top tier. A perfect Ken and dare I say it, a perfect 10

In case you missed it, here’s a #TutorialTuesday someone requested on Twitter to go with last week’s process video on how to create a perspective grid from a photo (from Tomomi Sato) which you can use for studies, drawings, paintings, etc. Hope this helps with drawing/painting in perspective!!

Here's some notes on some of the upper body muscles so you, artist, don't need to look them up

They are not medically accurate, just enough for artists to know the necessary muscles and how they work together

I 100% recommend doing the last exercise I did to be able to actually place the muscles

Apart from obvious planning and strategy I hope you all know the single most important part to achieving anything you want is an overdose of self confidence and audacity.

Planning is good, don't get me wrong. Self help books sound great and coaching etc will help but sis at some point all you need is audacity. That's it. Go get it. Shoot your shot and if you miss shoot another, find another target or a bigger gun but you will have to shoot that shot someday.

You have to just go ask for it. You wanna be a model? You know that one girl in the industry?? Go talk to her. "What if she doesn't like me?" Okay then you cross that option from your list and find another. You want a raise?? Ask for one. You have a great idea but no investments but that one uncle could hook you up? Pitch it. "But what if I sound stupid?" Then you go home and find something sounding smart and do it.

You'll find 60% of the time people are on the same train as you and didn't know how to ask. 80% of your problems and inhibitions are imagined and a result of catastrophizing. Ask that boy to the movies, get rejected and find you a new crush. Ask your boss for a promotion, get it or get rejected and plan your exit. Send your resume to that job and follow up. Apply for that visa and get rejected and find out why you were then apply again.

If you're waiting to feel ready I'm pleased to pull you out of that dream, you never will. Even if you do the second you stand outside your deans office asking for a recommendation your ego will kick in and you'll run. You really do have to just jump in. Obviously be prepared but jump right in. You have to have the audacity to get you into the door, confidence to get you through and resilience to pick you up.
